Red Dragonfly
This ladybug is so lazy, she decided to hitch-hike on the back of the butterfly, and just to be safe she´s wearing a helmet. ;-) / The sky and the water is made with Photoshop filters, the rest is from 4 different photos I´ve taken.
Woot! Found some.

A dragonfly settles against a sparkling watery backdrop. Featured in Indigeous to East and Southern Africa Group.
I’m bored, have a head cold and I’m stuck at home so I had to try and use my imagination with what I had around the house! I don’t know if I’ll keep this one up, I want to try and perfect it. It’s actually just a water drop on top of a tiny bougainvillea flower.. This can give you an idea of how tiny this actually is! Ohh, and this has not received any post processing.
The only change I made to this photograph was with the curves I twigged the color in it a bit but I personally love the effect. He was such the poser you will see :) I have a few dragonfly photo’s but to keep it from being boring I will only post the ones that are very different in feeling and effect. Thanks for viewing. FYI: this is my very first time capturing a dragonfly! Wasn’t the water still !
I rarely see a red spider…here is one having a drink!
This was taken on my front deck early in the morning with heavy fog leaving dew on a cobweb.

Doesn’t this pair of bees look like they are having a great time on this water lily? How I envy them! :D(Best viewed when large) / /

I’m not entirely sure how I did this. I know I took away the background from the tiny Small Copper butterfly, perched it on some leaves floating in the lake & fiddled with some layer stuff. It’s just for fun, not a serious attempt at layering, but it’s a beginning. The butterfly should have a reflection, one day it might, if I can figure it out. I don’t think I can do this again as it was all just playing and I can’t remember the sequence of events, but who knows where it will lead? / 011208 / PSE7 This sky where we live / Is no place to lose your wings. / So love, love, love. / Hafiz حافظ Human beings are members of a whole, / In creation of one essence and soul. / If one member is afflicted with pain, / Other members uneasy will remain. / If you have no sympathy for human pain, / The name of human you cannot retain. / Saadi “Of one Essence is the human race, / thus has Creation put the base; / One Limb impacted is sufficient / For all Others to feel the Mace ” / —Saadi (1184–1283) “There is only one sacred manuscript, the sacred manuscript of Nature, which alone can enlighten the reader.” Hazrat Inayat Khan All profits from my sales will be donated to Butterfly Conservation. Red-Eyed Tree Frog. Red-Eyed Tree Frogs are mostly nocturnal. Seeing this one out during the day was extremely lucky. This gorgeous frog uses its colouration to camouflage into its rainforest environments. It’s sticky toe pads allow it to climb up vertical surfaces with ease. I took this sometime in the summer in my bathroom. There was a giant spiderweb on the window so I sprayed it with water… most of it ended up on the window which is the bokeh you seen in the background. Enjoy!
I love this one, probably one of my best insect macros yet. I think it must be some sort of grasshopper. Taken in Katoomba, NSW, Australia :) — Taken with: Canon 40D / Lens used: 2.8 100mm / Shutter speed: 1/320 / F number: 8.0 / ISO: 400
