An inquisitive Wallace.

Who are you? why do you look like the way you do? The curious mind of a child. I met this little boy in Rwanda. He perhaps had never seen a foreigner before, let alone an asian looking one. He keep looking at me and followed me, shyly looked away when i tried to engage him. He sat on the pew in front of me but kept looking back at me. Too shy to smile. Until, he felt comfortable enough to look straight at me and allow me to take his picture. All throughout, we spoke through our eyes…..no words….but ….. we were friends
You have no idea how impossible it is to get a close-up of a giraffe looking directly into the lens. This was a shot I really had to perservere with but I’m basically pleased with the outcome.
A bit different to my last few uploads..
Spotted some horses in a field on the way to work yesterday, the sun was just coming through the mist, had to go turn round and go back to have a look and came away with a couple of nice shots. There was a thick frost on the ground, real crisp winter morning Thanks to Richard Shepherd for the title.
This sky blue Indian Ringneck Parakeet had an inquisitive personality which we felt this picture captured beautifully.

A yellow rump warbler is scanning the skies and seems to be wondering, “Is anybody up there?” Or maybe he’s assuring us, “There certainly is Somebody up there!”

Felt a bit down today so just had to create. Was going to throw some paint at a canvas but instead grabbed an old photo I took at the Toowoomba Horse Show years ago & went for it. I just love charcoal – such an expressive, sensitive medium. A lot like me really ;-) Here’s the drawing on the easel. And thanks for looking. Original is For Sale. Simply email me.
