  We’re thinking about how to make RedBubble a better place for writers The Unleashed short story competition attracted a lot of talented writers, but to be honest we haven’t done enough since then to support them on RedBubble. That will change. Initiatives in the pipeline for writers include: / 1. A new competition for short stories and poetry / 2. Redesign site – ‘gallery’ probably splits into ‘art’, ‘writing’, ‘t-shirts’. / 3. Distinguish between ‘written works’ and journal entries/blogs / 4. Reaching out to writers already on RedBubble for their input It will take some time to get all these done, but we’re keen to launch the competition and get lots of input on improvements ASAP. If you feel strongly about making RedBubble a better place for writers, now’s a great time to speak up! Let us know what you’d like to see – be it new features, website changes, community activities, etc. Also check out this forum topic seeking input from writers.

  I need your help, I desire that the ‘writers only’ would have a forum of which to display their works and sell them too. Instead of having to go to each individual artist here on RB and ask to collaborate using their art piece… They could go to an area where they could log in and get a background piece that they think would best display their written work,, in the end it would be collaboration but it would be a freedom they would,… I know I would… enjoy. All of us who do photos or any other medium who care to submit a background piece would be given full recognition of their contribution and the money aspect would have to be maybe 50/50 or some works could be displayed as maybe a 60/40 split, being the intent would be from the writer and the display would be on their site.. The photo or art piece displayed on their site would have the name of the artist who submitted the background and when and if the writer would do anything outside red bubble with the art he or she would then have to ask for collaberation agreements.. something like that … I have more info going around in my head but want you all to tell me what does this sound like to you and feel like as far as working? We could even create background pieces with direct intent to be used for the expressed purposes of the writer only here at RB?

  Ok this is what I need help on….. / Does anyone know exactly what the Kaleidoscope Award really is? / Do they have a theme?   Hi guys, I’m off for camping this coming weekend, from sat-sunday … / We still havent decide which one to go at this stage … Anyone can give some tips and hints for great locations not to be missed for landscape photo … will be great :) Also, anybody can give a hint for star trail shots by digital, with a minimum amount of noise? Probably we can get rid of them by noise reduction software, but I dont have that … and wouldnt it reduce the sharpness and IQ of it? / Otherwise … I’ll bring my film camera … but damn … it will be quite heavy then … x( Thanks all … Regards, / Sidqie

  I have started my next photography course and one part of my first assignment is I need 5 images on “Drought” .... well…. at the moment I am living in Malaysia, it rains nearly every day !!!! :))) So I have one image of a dying rose and have added a cracked earth texture, and the second image I have is a triptych of water drops with the words ‘Save Every Drop’ refracted in the water drop ….. but thats about it ….. I can think of nothing else ….. so I am putting my hand up and looking for any suggestions all you creative people might have ….. Anyone ????

  I like way RedBubble is evolving. RedBubble listens to us and consistently improves the site based on feedback from its members. So, I have put together a WishList of enhancements to a community that is creatively supportive and a potentially powerful marketing tool. One of my favorite new tools is Promote Me! Here goes: BubbleMail opens in a new window. / The ability to organize Comments by title or commentor. / This setup would greatly help when I want to send a BubbleMail to someone who has commented on several of my images. An archive for BubbleMail. / Inbox (read and unread) / Sent (currently, there is no file for sent email) The ability to view the original BubbleMail while I respond. The ability to move images in my Art by drag and drop. It would help to have reduced-size thumbnails on the Edit/Move page. Albums or Folders or Themes or Categories in the portfolio for organizing images. These are listed on the main public profile page outside the profile bio. Add a blog with threads to each Group with a preview and its link on the Group’s home page. Not a Journal or Forum, a Blog. Notification if there is a response or addition to my post in a Forum or Group. Notification if it was a Bubbler who purchased my art. No notification beyond the sale notice if the purchaser is outside Red Bubble. A running total of total views of my art which includes the number of views of art I have removed. It is discouraging to see my number of views drop when I edit my portfolio and remove images. I would love to know how many times my photos have been viewed since I signed up. In MyBubble, add a view count for our Public Profiles. I would love to know that people are viewing my public profile. Add the artist’s $Share information and current total to the Sales page. Do not show this info for purchases by the artist. The current description is enough. Allow buyers to search categories within a price range. That would greatly simplify the process for them. The ability to choose what images are in my Promote Me slideshow. It is a hefty wish list, but this is the season for wishes! What enhancements would you like to see on RedBubble?   My RedBubble Wish List I wish I could drag and drop to reposition the images in my portfolio. I wish I could sort my images by category, such as Ranch, Wildlife, Turkey, Flowers, Humor, Macro. I wish I could bring up all the photos I have in a Group. I wish the Groups would send me an alert when there is new content in a related forum. I wish BubbleMail would let us see what we are responding to in the Send A BubbleMail window, and I wish we had an archive of our sent Bubblemail. I wish I could choose three of my own photos to permanently rotate in the Promote Flash Widget. I love the Flash Widget! What’s on your Wish List?

I worked in the film and tv industry for 10 years, mostly as a 3d animator but I really want to get more illustration work doing books, tshirts, cover art, etc. I’ve been working on my folio for awhile and developing my art. Here’s what I’d like to know: / If you liked one of the images, and wanted to order it as something else (say, a framed print), are you likely to send a note requesting it? Or move on?
