Firstly I took the photo of the rose with a black B/G. To darken it more I cut around it with the lasso tool went to Select-inverse then changed the colour to black in the foreground box and used the paint bucket to drop in the black.I then went to file-blank file and brought up the size I wanted. I changed this to black.I clicked on Rectangular Marquee tool and placed a box around the rose pic. Chose Ctrl C and brought up the blank box and chose Ctrl V. I placed the pic in this box with room down the bottom to add the flood filter.
For some reason I always find myself drawn to the moon in my greatest times of adversity…. seeking solace in the Mother Goddess maybe….. perhaps some ritual remnant of pagan ancestors….. Either way, it soothes me. The ritual known as Drawing Down the Moon is the Wiccan/pagan ritual of drawing the spirit of the Goddess/moon into the practitioner to enable the Goddess to speak directly through this person. / It is a very sacred ritual amongst followers of this faith. Did you know : / - Wattle is Australia’s official floral emblem, having adorned our Coat Of Arms since 1912. / - there are around 950 different species of Wattle….. which is why I have no clue as to which one this is! / - On 1 September 1910 the Sydney Morning Herald stated: / “To many Australians the wattle stands for home, country, kindred, sunshine and love; every instinct that the heart most deeply enshrines.”........ nice :) [canon 1000D, canon scanner for texture, PS watercolour] WINNER – Wattle challenge – October 2009
