I suppose you could say this was an experiment so be gentle with comments. This painting was inspired by a Hallmark presentation called Loving Leah. Leah’s mother said concerning her daughter’s happiness, “A mother is only as happy as her saddest child” This touched me and I knew I had to paint. My goal with this painting was to have a rustic appeal to symbolize the aftermath of hardships. Despite weathering their storms with scars to prove it their bond was unable to corrode or break. Some may be able to see a mother and child in this painting while others might see a woman and her inner child. On a more spiritual level one could see themselves in the arms of the One who loved them first. In all three examples hardships were endured but beauty is untouched. The mother in this version has one small tear in each eye. The child is peaceful. F. Mag

I intend to do all healing paintings for individual people using this technique. I have been thinking about the best way to do this and also how to convey what Spirit wishes to make known to each individual. The contents of the ephemeral painting are really for the individual to decipher, however I can assist should the need arise. From now on all painting will be numbered. The message in this work is that you should connect to that wonderful inner child you have hidden and utilise the intuitive aspects she would like to express. There is a very strong feeling of childlike openness filled with great compassion. I would be very happy to receive this wonderful painting from my Spirit Guides. It would make me happy. You can attain what you need and there is great support in difficult times. An example of this is this painting and Spirit guiding me to paint one for you. I bring joy into my life, bring joy to my family and allow myself to feel love and joy everyday. I feel that everyone can do with a bit of “joy” in their lives. This is what she represents, pure joy, fun, laughter, our inner-child. Maybe if we remember that she is within each and everyone of us our lives may be filled with more more “joy”. All of my art is copyrighted and does not belong to the public domain.

/ / Best viewed large / / Detail / Self Portrait for the Happy Challenge in which you have to rate yourself on a scale from 1-10 (1 being seriously depressed, 10 being the happiest) and then create self-portrait expressing that state. Any artistic medium/technique is allowed. Hmmm I’m thinking glass half full at the moment, and enjoying all the colours of the rainbow in Inner Child, so i shall rate myself as a reserved 7.0… the painting is a reflection of myself at my most peaceful, daydreaming as I tend to do often…. The painting began as a pencil drawing on cardboard, using chalk pastels and charcoal to lightly fill in the flesh tones, finished off the piece adding to it digitally in Photoshop. / Here it is prior to photoshop. / The portrait looks quite serious, which is translating as sadness, and I can see what everyone’s saying.. but I was happy at the time. The Challenge is now open for entries. Voting starts in 20 days.
