  • Dark strong shadows add to his masculine appearance, this raw piece made with inks and acrylics is bold and transfers male energy well. / This piece was drawn with a live model. The study of the human form fascinates me, each person brings in a different energy and will make me work in a different way. I thoroughly enjoy opening up every session and let the moment decide the outcome. / this drawing and more work is on display in my store at / byrontik.com

  • Black pen on paper (biro pen) This is a sketch of my daughter Zafyre Rose Charlotte, at one week of age. / / As i watched her sleep, so new to the world, i was overcome with her beauty and had the urge to try to capture it with ink… / She is my inspiration. thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /

  • Bush and Cheney. 12×16” Pen and ink, charcoal and eggshells on canvas board. In this piece, Cheney is partly made of eggshells which I used to show his frailty in mind and in body. Our administration does so much damage in the name of God and country. The populace in the lower portion is disfigured, without hope and without justice in this world. Text is from a sermon by Jonathan Edwards entitled “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God (1741): Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards hell; and if God should let you go, you would immediately sink and swiftly descend and plunge into the bottomless gulf, and your healthy constitution, and your own care and prudence, and best contrivance, and all your righteousness, would have no more influence to uphold you and keep you out of hell, than a spider’s web would have to stop a falling rock. Were it not for the sovereign pleasure of God, the earth would not bear you one moment; for you are a burden to it; the creation groans with you… There are the black clouds of God’s wrath now hanging directly over your heads, full of the dreadful storm, and big with thunder; and were it not for the restraining hand of God, it would immediately burst forth upon you… there is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, that holds the waters back, that are unwilling to be stopped, and press hard to go forward. If God should only withdraw his hand from the flood-gate, it would immediately fly open, and the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of God, would rush forth with inconceivable fury, and would come upon you with omnipotent power…The bow of God’s wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string, and justice bends the arrow at your heart, and strains the bow, and it is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, and that of an angry God, without any promise or obligation at all, that keeps the arrow one moment from being made drunk with your blood… Also inspired by NIN/Year Zero, specifically the track Capital G. The lyrics to this amazing song are as follows: I pushed a button and elected him to office and a / He pushed a button and it dropped a bomb / You pushed a button and could watch it on the television / Those motherfuckers didn’t last too long ha ha / I’m sick of hearing ‘bout the haves and the have nots / Have some personal accountability / The biggest problem with the way that we’ve been doing things is / The more we let you have the less that I’ll be keeping for me Well I used to stand for something / Now I’m on my hands and knees / Traded in my God for this one / He signs his name with a Capital G Don’t give a shit about the temperature in Guatemala / Don’t really see what all the fuss is about / Ain’t gonna worry bout no future generations and a / I’m sure somebody’s gonna figure it out / Don’t try to tell me how some power can corrupt a person / You haven’t had enough to know what it’s like / You’re only angry ‘cause you wish you were in my position / Now nod your head because you know that I’m right—all right! Well I used to stand for something / But forgot what that could be / There’s a lot of me inside you / Maybe you’re afraid to see Well I used to stand for something / Now I’m on my hands and knees / Traded in my God for this one / He signs his name with a Capital G

  • Ink portrait: Faber-Castell PITT artist pen(s) on heavy proof sketch paper. I did this one at work about three weeks ago right before I was laid off. Movie, comic and all wrapped into one.

  • Part of my Revolutionaries Series. Ink and watercolor portrait of genius William S. Burroughs. He collaborated with many other beautiful minds in realms of writing, music, film, theater, and even some television appearances. He is one of my favorite authors and was a true Revolutionary. Burroughs is an inspiration to many artists, including myself, to think independently and question authority, in art and writing and in life. 11×15” (Winsor & Newton Cotman in black on Strathmore CP 300 series paper)

  • Part of my Revolutionaries Series. ink and watercolors 11×15” (Winsor & Newton Cotman and Loew-Cornell Metallics on Strathmore CP 300 series paper) Hunter S. Thompson: / “America… just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.” Dr. Thompson was a genius and his contributions to journalism and popular culture are immense. He is an inspiration to me as a writer to be true to myself and my beliefs, and he adhered to those qualities until his death. He spoke the truth, and that is beautiful. He exposed many people to the concept of several parallel dimensions existing alongside our own.

  • This self-portrait work was started with graphite, pen and ink, and a soft white pastel. I also used a brown chalk to scumble in the background and I then used a large brush to blend the areas with water. After this preliminary drawing work, I selectively sprayed the piece with a sepia, gold, and black spray paint, to seal the drawing and create a varied tonal quality. I printed my hand in white gesso, then added the heart and expanding veins (which were drawn in with black ink, and painted with layers of red ink for a varied saturation). Finally the heartbeat line was overlaid with a blue tinted gesso. The original dimensions are 18in. X 12in. It was produced in 2008.
