I created this drawing with art markers and a micron .01 black pen. The paper is Stonehenge 100% Cotton, Vellum finish, 250 GSM, neutral ph/acid free paper. It is 8×8 inches. I absolutely LOVE this paper and plan to buy more in different sizes. It beats ANY Strathmore Bristol Papers, Hands Down! This is a print of the original piece entitled “I will wait for you here” / It was hand drawn with ink and digitally altered with color and texture. The background is old fabric that was scanned and copied into the print. I absolutely adore this piece. It shoots me right back to fifth grade when my best friend had her dad build us a swing in the woods. I used to swing for hours looking up at the birds…and wait. Im not sure what I was waiting for back then…but it didnt matter, I was happiest there. This pub was demolished in 1891, so the photo I used will be in the public domain by now. It’s the first pen and ink I have done for a while and it took ages, hence the lack of new paintings :) The pub stood about a mile from where I live. Another pub with the same name replaced it. It’s A3 sized and I used Rotring Isograph and Rapidograph pens. Because of all the detail this didn’t photograph too well, so here is a close-up: /

Ink, wax and water-colour on a full sheet of Saunders cold pressed, 300gms with printing techniques. / I love this paper for it’s soft but meaty texture and the randomness of its surface. Full sheets appeal because I get to keep the deckle edges as part of the rawness I look for with the direct application of water soluble hues. I read recently how the Japanese think – or have traditionally thought of – paper as sacred. Working with paper is always a thrill for me ….... its tactility and the very simple relationship with the fabric of trees is a delightful inter-relationship

This is a print of one of my “rough” sketches that started out as a tiny doodle in my sketch pad…it turned into something bigger…and I fell in love with it. I just follow my pencil…whatever it does I go with. This was hand drawn and then enhanced digitally to give the piece color. I did not erase my pencil lines because I feel it adds some needed character and personality! I love the green…Im so loving green lately! I just uploaded this new scan from my work!! I just completed this mixed media piece. The image size is 14×18 inches. I used archival ink and derwent graphitint watercolor pencils. This is drawn on illustration board and took many hours. I completed the border over a year ago and could not decide what I wanted to put in the middle. I was originally going to call this drawing “If I Could Help Design An Antelope” but as I finished it I decided that it had an old world feeling to it and the name “Paradise” seemed to fit.
