pen on paper drawing
Enjoy!
An illustration from my MAD magazine days.
When I was visiting relatives in Wrexham (North Wales), I spotted a stone head on the lawn near the library. It was decorated with mosaic. As I try not to plagiarise, I decided to draw the outline of the head and then draw it as though it was built with stones, sort of dry-wall style. As of September 2009 this has been favourited 37 times and featured 4 tiems, so I guess someone out there likes it :) I am now offering this for sale as view cards. Here is the photo I used for this drawing (I took it myself so there are no copyright issues) and I ask you to consider whether I do straight copies or, as I believe, I add some of my own style to the finished picture. Pen and ink drawing for triangle competition. / Vote for me and we’ll be best friends.
This price of ink is a crime and when you open up your printer to find out who the culprit is for the strange coloured document or whinging printer utility your always looking at the four usual suspects, C, M, Y & K (aka black). In this design i have tried to give each of them a bit of character like the Usual Suspects movie cover. I’d like to acknowledge Big Fat Robot and his Tshirt design R,G and B. which is one of my favorite T’s and one of the inspirations for this T. So who do you suspect? /
The original artwork is pen & ink on paper, size 22” x 28”.

Part of an ongoing series of organic vs man made.Or maybe just a fascination with curves and straight lines either way i felt this one had to be done as a follow on from the first. Thanks sjem. for pushing me in the right direction.
Inevitably, he had to be a part of my series.

Ink on 120 gsm Cartridge Paper (A4) digitally reversed (one of my first digital experiments) I did this doodle whilst in hospital. I’d had some ‘funny’ heart beats and pains, hence the title. I rocked up at the emergency department of our local public hospital with a huge bag of art materials; ready for a 4-5 hour wait…..but, as soon as I mentioned pains in my chest…..well I didn’t even get to sit down, I was taken straight through and hooked up to all these monitors. So I spent the next 4 -5 hours in a bed (much more comfortable than the waiting room). I’m sure I have ‘Obsessive Creative Disorder’ because I can not stop drawing, creating, painting, doodling…..and no stay in hospital was going to stop me. I’m sure this was the most healing part of my stay as it really relaxes me.
