  • This Nightjar is rarely seen but is relatively common along the entire East Coast of Australia. My neighbour is a volunteer wildlife carer for “WIRES” (Wildlife Information Rescue & Education Service Inc.) here in NSW and looked after this lovely bird when it was found with an injured wing. The carers for WIRES do an amazing job and pay out of their own pocket to feed and support the wildlife they look after. If I can, I would like to help these wonderful people by donating the proceeds of the sale of this card to assist them. • American bald eagle closeup (captive)

  • A bunny wrought with trouble.

  • The screech can be heard for miles when they are aloft. Captured and cured, these magnificent American Bald Eagles will be released soon. First they must wait for the cold so the large birds can feed on there own from the near by river and then return when it’s warmer to Canada or Alaska. Once our most beloved endangered species, this emblem of America is now plentiful but still protected. One can do a long time in prison for harming or capturing this Icon.

This was taken ( as is) after his healing process of almost 6 months, just prior to release… I called him “Mystery”. Soft darkness of night, a time of deep magick, / Your realm, great owl whose eyes see reality in the darkness. / I would call up wise and deep magicks, / Magicks bold and strong, creating change. • He has been in captivity for almost 20 years, after being rescued with a broken wing, which could not be properly healed. He is gentle, and responsive, and seemingly unconcerned by his captivity. This beautiful bald eagle provided me with hours of observation and some great photos. I decided to process this one in B&W. Nikon D2Xs, Nikkor 18-200 mm DX lens, ISO 800, F5.6, 1/160s. Captured at the Campbell River Bald Eagle Festival in the Maritime Heritage Centre in Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada.
