Shot on infrared film with a Holga camera, on a small island in the northern part of the Göteborg archipelago.
Photographing the old shipyard on the north bank of the Göta River was more difficult than I had anticipated. First, there were practical difficulties. In this time of hidden threats, terrorists, etcetera, most of the really interesting parts of the shipyard, which is still in use, was surrounded by barbed wire. I couldn’t get very close to the enormous cranes and dry docks. Then there was the difficulty of exposing the infrared film. I haven’t shot IR film in a while so 10 out of 11 frames were badly overexposed. Incidentally, it was the exact opposite when I shot my last roll a couple of years ago. At least I got one decent image – a few workers leaving their shift in the afternoon sun.
