    Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans), Yarra Ranges National Park, Victoria, Australia. / _ This old giant (approx 350 year old) was known as The Furmston Tree (also The Von Mueller Tree). It was featured in early Victorian Railways and other tourism photographs of the 1930’s to 50’s era but taken from a different angle. / _ By 2000 it was decaying from the inside with a large open hollow on one side. It finally succumbed to strong winds and collapsed. It officially had a circumference at breast height (CBH) of 19.5 meters but being on a very steep slope made it difficult to measure. / _ Nikon F3.     Well here is my first Infrared image, well sort of, i got a Hoya R72 filter for Christmas and since having it it has not stopped raining, well at least on the days when i have been able to go out shooting, so i took this of the Winnats pass in the peak district but the sky was just grey cloud so i played in photoshop and added a better sky but in colour. Let me know what you think? i am waiting for a good clear day to try it out properly.
