Taken at Staindale Lake, Dalby forest, North Yorkshire. The Staindales, High and Low, take their names from the Viking for ‘stony valley’. This is probably a reference to the rocky nature of nearby ravines and the amazing jurassic rock formations of the Bridestones and the Adderstone. A small attractive lake has been created in the valley providing a refuge for ducks and geese. Just like her sister city in Italy, this small town in northwest Georgia is also known as the City of Seven Hills. Rome was voted the #1 small city in the Southeast and was named one of Forbes Best Places in 2007.
