Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) I sold a laminated print through Redbubble – August 2008 This is the coloured version Tank traps on Stockton bight, a series of sand dunes north of Newcastle. Recent visitors have discovered they are mostly all covered in sand now.
