Driving along today I spotted this container, so had to go back home and get my camera! I have no idea what the chinese words say, but I can hazard a guess. I was drawn in by the clean strong lines created by the late afternoon sun contrasting with the grungy rusty bits down below. More in this series: /

The tones of the setting sun only serve to enhance the colour of the old brick chimney stack at the Barwon Paper Mills, Geelong.

After releasing all the ills, / sin, pestilance and the rest, / Pandora found the only thing left - / hope laying at the bottom of the chest. Taken 8 July at about 3pm while covering a ‘sod turning’ at a new industrial estate in Bacchus Marsh. The rainbow was magnificent with a second one framing it (much fainter). Unfortunately rain got onto my lens and blurred the darker area of sky. This photo has not been altered, enhanced or cropped in any way.

My first attempt at HDR, this is from a single RAW that I used to created the exposures -2, -1, 0, +1 and +2. Haven’t had a chance yet to go out and take 3 or 5 separate exposures to make a proper HDR.
