To Lament
My memory stick was full after shooting raw images all day. I think I had 3 shots left. I turned around and saw the clouds forming in such an unusual way so I quickly switched my camera to fine (jpg quality) and managed to get 7 shots before they disappeared.

Every morning before dawn these wild horses ran along the beach to greener pasture at the base of the hills behind us. Not quite enough light to capture sharp images but I like the soft light and the experience was awesome. Pawarenga, Hokianga, New Zealand

Carved by the master, Derek Lardelli they were commissioned to celebrate the millennium (amongst other things) / Mt Hikurangi is the first place to see the sun. . .

It was Maui who snared the sun, making him travel more slowly across the sky. Maui and his team waited for the sun to rise, then they threw their ropes over the sun and held on for dear life. Such was Maui’s magic that the ropes did not burn and such was his strength that sun gave in. Agreed to give the people and land more time in the day.
