A portrait of a relaxed woman, head tilted back, afro freshly fluffed with beautiful ornaments called paisley. This portrait is framed by a lacey oval shape topped with a paisley flower, stylized stem shapes, 2 more paisleys and crowned with a 3D wireframe object enclosed in a round of flowers. This is a piece further inspired by other original paisley pen sketches I have made and a deeper experiment of the most recent “Paisley Tresses”. One major idea behind this is the substitution of the main object and it being replaced with a different object of choice. Not a brand new idea but another interpretation of those great ideas that other artists have used for many years in some POP art pieces. 3-9-2008

Portrait of a woman with locks of Paisley pieces. Each Paisley piece is from a pen sketch re-drawn with crisp black and white vectors. 3-3-08

Another Paisley sketch re-rendered (drawn) using Black and White vectors. This paisley object contains a mens’/womens’ button-up dress shirt with a pocket on the side. The sleeves of the shirt are folded in and topped with a flower. Surrounding this image is a round o’ cuffs making visible the cuffs that were hidden on the inner part of the image. Placed at the top is a button medallion to accentuate the theme of “buttoning-up”. To furthermore reinforce the theme the Paisley object is embellished with the circular pattern of petal’d buttons. 3-5-08

The Ganesh Pol, or Ganesh Gate is one of the four gates in the City Palace of Jaipur. Ganesh is the Hindu God of intellect and wisdom. He is the first son of the deity Shiva, and his wife Parvati, and is depicted as large bellied, 4 armed and with the head of a one-tusked elephant. He is attended to by a mouse, often aslo depicted. In Sanskrit, ‘Ga’ represents Buddhi (or intellect), and ‘Na’ represents Vidnyana (wisdom). A crop of a crop. Crooked, but happy with what was salvaged. In the City palace, the Ganesh Pol is in the middle of the west wall of the courtyard of the Diwan-i-Am (court, or literally ‘lounge’ of the ordinary person, as opposed to the Diwan-i-Khas) and leads into the Pritam Niwas Chowk through the famous Peacock Gate.
