This Indian Palm Squirrel was content to let us get a great close-up while he nibbled on an almond. These beautiful creatures are endemic across the whole of India but rarely hang around in such close proximity. (See also The Sniffer ) Johdpur, Rajasthan, India
This beautiful Indian Palm Squirrel was anything but shy, after posing for us whilst nibbling an almond (see The Nibbler ) he proceeded to check out the camera… “Is it edible?” you can just see it in his eyes! Johdpur, Rajasthan, India
The sun in this shot was at a perfect angle to really play tricks on the eye. Having taken this shot I know how the stairs were set but every time I look at this picture I see it differently… Fatehpur Sikri is a fascinating ghost city built in the 16th century, 37 km from Agra, India
Peace is the last thing you feel in Delhi, but this picture somehow captures a huge amount of energy but one very peaceful little girl. Panning with the rickshaw as it rode past I managed to capture a single focus point, the little girl seemingly lost in thought, whilst chaos reigns outside of her thoughts. An amazing picture that just captures the essence and madness of India. Delhi, India 2009
The queue for the Red Fort in Delhi, a melting pot of colours, styles, peoples and cultures. We just love the idea of this picture, bringing vague hints of the Beatles Abbey Road album cover (probably the most famous in the world so Google if necessary) for some reason but that could be just my strange mind. Delhi, India 2009
The backwaters of Kerala are well worth a visit. The beautiful palms against the blue skies and a chance to witness the everyday life of millions as you sail past… Kerala, India.
The amazing sandstone fort of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It just makes me think of the beach whenever I look at it, although my sand castles as a child were never so ornate! An amazing place surrounded by desert with some beautiful buildings, in particular the Jain Temples inside the fort which are definitely worth a visit! Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India.
This amazing picture was just a but of lucky timing. The renovation work in the fort and palace grounds required moving the masonry and cement around the buildings. For this they used the local ladies who gracefully carried their loads. Amber/Amer Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

The beautiful colours of this shot really captured our imagination. India is a mystical place with a multitude of religions and millions of Dieties. This offering was on the wall of a house and we can only assume was offered to pray for protection of the house and family and make their dreams come true. We can only hope their dreams come true but we can certainly say they chose a beautiful colour to paint their wall! Johdpur, India.
