  • Today in southern Louisiana, we experienced a “Christmas miracle” as one lovely RedBubble lady, Sande Elkins, put it—for the first time in 20 years, it snowed here, and our semi-tropical home looked kind of like the North Pole for a few hours. Then, by mid afternoon, Louisiana, as we know it emerged once again with blue sunny skies and bright green grass as though Old Man Winter had not even made a hint of his presence. As I was frolicking in the snow during the short duration it lasted, I came upon my blooming rose bushes, laden with snow and bent close to the ground, and I was struck by the sight of a single flower in the snow. The sight of it reminded me of the Christ Child, how he came in the dead of winter like a fresh bright blossom, like a rose in the snow. My inspiration for this thought came from the lyrics of a song which says, “So many years ago, in Bethlehem, a Baby came like a violet in the snow.” This image is my version of that song. A blessed Christmas to all. May the Christ Child fill you with the fragrance of His love.

  • Serapis Bey was incarnated as a high priest in one of the “Temples of the Sacred Fire” on Atlantis who migrated to Egypt at the time of the destruction. It is also believed that he was incarnated as the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep III (who constructed the Temple of Luxor to the god Amon) and also as Leonidas, the King of Sparta who was killed in 480 BC defending the pass of Thermopylae against the invasion of Greece by Xerxes I, Emperor of the Persian Empire. A commissioned painting. 18th January 2008

  • As I walked by this church today (in a light TOOO bright) I saw the shadows on the tree on the church and LOVED it! The Church of the Incarnation – Highlands, NC On October 30,1879, the first Episcopal Church service was held in a schoolhouse by the Rev. John A. Deal who had begun his work in Macon County (our county) in 1877 and lived in Franklin, North Carolina, twenty miles away. By 1884, regular services were held in people’s homes. Mr. Deal wrote about Highlands, “Here in the land of clouds and evergreens, I established one of my most promising missions, supported in winter by the resident congregation that enlarged as the summer homes and inns filled.” Much is the same today.

  • Winter Sunset over Fairbanks North Star Borough / Alaska Winter Scenics The Universal Incarnation “There is a Wisdom like a brooding Sun, / A Bliss in the heart’s crypt grown fiery white, / The heart of a world in which all hearts are one, / A Silence on the mountains of delight. A Calm that cradles Fate upon its knees; / A wide Compassion leans to embrace earth’s pain; / A Witness dwells within our secrecies, / The incarnate Godhead in the body of man. Our mind is a glimmering curtain of that Ray, / Our strength a parody of the Immortal’s power, / Our joy a dreamer on the Eternal’s way / Hunting the fugitive beauty of an hour. Only on the heart’s veiled door the word of flame / Is written, / the secret and tremendous Name.” ~ poetry by Sri Aurobindo From my collection: / Emerquinox Spirit of Alaska / Emerquinox is a word I coined when I combined the words Emerge and Equinox. • A digital collage inspired by the rituals and worship of the Ancient Minoan Snake Goddess or Priestess from the Palace of Knossos, Crete, dated 1600 bce. In this aspect she embodies the Fertility and Spirit of the Great Earth Mother from which all life begins and returns. The snakes were worshipped as guardians of her mysteries of birth and regeneration and were often believed to be incarnations of the dead. They symbolised immortality in the shedding and renewal of their skins. The sacred bird of the famous Ghost Dance was the crow. / The crow is considered to be the keeper of all sacred law, the one who knew the deep mysteries of all creation. Seeing a crow in certain situations was an omen of coming change.
