This is a symbolic painting representing the idea of re-incarnation and rebirth. The sleeping figure defines the peace or sleep of passing over and the awakened figure is representational of the guardian spirit awaiting on the otherside to greet the soul upon its arrival. I relied heavily upon symbology and colour for this Celtic inspired piece and I hope that upon looking into it you can find a personal message that strikes a chord for yourself. It also echoes heavily on the love reunited theme as ‘love is eternal’ and I’m a big softy so there…I hope you enjoy looking at this piece :) Katherine :) Image copyright © 1999, KB – of www.elegantsavage.co.uk. Serapis Bey was incarnated as a high priest in one of the “Temples of the Sacred Fire” on Atlantis who migrated to Egypt at the time of the destruction. It is also believed that he was incarnated as the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep III (who constructed the Temple of Luxor to the god Amon) and also as Leonidas, the King of Sparta who was killed in 480 BC defending the pass of Thermopylae against the invasion of Greece by Xerxes I, Emperor of the Persian Empire. A commissioned painting. 18th January 2008
“Incarnation”
A couple of years ago, I designed this image and sent it to family and friends as a Christmas greeting. The photo is of a stained glass window in a lovely old Catholic church in southern Louisiana.
Ruby is a character I developed to create a personal narrative about the journey of life, exploring the range of emotions about each subject matter both internally and externally as seen through Ruby’s eyes. The work is multilayered from the mundane to the sublime. Since there are twelve pieces in this body of work, I decided it would be interesting as a calendar. Each image is paired with the month I think it best fits, due to color palette or choice of subject matter.

This very much looks like the alien from the Alien franchise. I bought this tulip from Tesselaar over the weekend and loving it.

Today in southern Louisiana, we experienced a “Christmas miracle” as one lovely RedBubble lady, Sande Elkins, put it—for the first time in 20 years, it snowed here, and our semi-tropical home looked kind of like the North Pole for a few hours. Then, by mid afternoon, Louisiana, as we know it emerged once again with blue sunny skies and bright green grass as though Old Man Winter had not even made a hint of his presence. As I was frolicking in the snow during the short duration it lasted, I came upon my blooming rose bushes, laden with snow and bent close to the ground, and I was struck by the sight of a single flower in the snow. The sight of it reminded me of the Christ Child, how he came in the dead of winter like a fresh bright blossom, like a rose in the snow. My inspiration for this thought came from the lyrics of a song which says, “So many years ago, in Bethlehem, a Baby came like a violet in the snow.” This image is my version of that song. A blessed Christmas to all. May the Christ Child fill you with the fragrance of His love.

As I walked by this church today (in a light TOOO bright) I saw the shadows on the tree on the church and LOVED it! The Church of the Incarnation – Highlands, NC On October 30,1879, the first Episcopal Church service was held in a schoolhouse by the Rev. John A. Deal who had begun his work in Macon County (our county) in 1877 and lived in Franklin, North Carolina, twenty miles away. By 1884, regular services were held in people’s homes. Mr. Deal wrote about Highlands, “Here in the land of clouds and evergreens, I established one of my most promising missions, supported in winter by the resident congregation that enlarged as the summer homes and inns filled.” Much is the same today.
here death and the devil have been forced to play a game of chess by God Who do you think will win (this is a whitty and humorus image a satrical approach to a logical understanding guess the logic)!
