A loose watercolour painting with touches of acrylic on Arches paper. Imagine an evening stroll along a hidden trail as the sun is setting throwing its warm glow across the shady trees… I did and this is what I created. Nothing like a glorious night to motivate one for a walk! Evening Stroll The sky was alight to my delight / oh my look at those colours what a sight! / Let’s go for a stroll I said to my dog / the night is clear, no rain, no fog. The flowers were dancing their colours aglow / the tree branches swaying putting on a show / the night lit up we were bathed in light / Oh for sure this was a glorious night! A very loose watercolour using minimal detail and bright colours for a group challenge, 20cm x 28cm on 300gsm canson paper. The main aim of this challenge is for a soft focus result with no hard edges. The sea was calling as the sun glowed / All lit up it was time for the show / Fire in the sky, my boat sailed on / Once in a lifetime to enjoy until gone…. by L.Callaghan Had to dig deep in the imagination for this one.

These tiny guys were growing out of a recently fallen old stag (dead tree). Loose wet in wet watercolour on Arches paper 8×10”. I dropped the colours where I wanted and shaped the painting. My main aim was to create a landscape out of my mind using brilliant colours. Sundown The day is over the air is still / the sun is setting over the hill. / Rainbow colours fill the land / Created by the sun’s hand. The light is slowly falling / and the night is softly calling. / The pallet of colours will surely fade / and soon all will be covered in shade. There will always be a lot of things to say about Patrick Swayze, the American actor, dancer and singer-songwriter who has recently passed away. But for me he will always be the man who had the ability to bring both joy and tears to my family during the 80s and 90s. He was the absolute movie idol for my daughter and exwife. I can´t remember how many times Dirty Dancing and Ghost were seen in our familiy TV set. / So this is my tribute to Patrick, for the nice moments he brought to this humble Cuban family. / Here´s a videoclip created with images from “Dirty Dancing”, She´s Like Thw Wind was used as the background music. Impressionism was a 19th century art movement that began as a loose association of Paris-based artists, who began exhibiting their art publicly in the 1860s. The name of the movement is derived from the title of a Claude Monet work, Impression, Sunrise (Impression, soleil levant), which provoked the critic Louis Leroy to coin the term in a satiric review published in Le Charivari. Characteristics of Impressionist painting include visible brushstrokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience, and unusual visual angles.
