  • Location: Lankathilaka Vehera Lankathilaka Vehera (or Lankatilake Vihara) is a 14th Century Buddhist Temple in Sri Lanka, well known for its unique ‘image house’ (i.e. the building that shelters the main Buddha Statue) which is full of distinctive architectural features, paintings and sculptures. Located 16km away from Kandy, this historic Buddhist temple is believed to have constructed by one Senalankadhikara, a warrior of the army of King Buvanekabahu IV of Gampola Kingdom. Dagoba shown in the photo in fact is not the main attraction of the site, but a small ordinary structure built closer to the edge of the summit of the rock where the image house (i.e. the main attraction) is located. Unlike its neighbor, this carries no distinctive features and usually draws no attraction. Impassivity (or tolerance): is the quality of being remain unmoved by both the praises and the criticisms from others about your conduct. It is one of the characteristics of Lord Buddha which he in return expected his followers to practice (this is more closer to ‘tolerance’ and should however not be mistaken for ‘staunchness’). F/6.3, 1/500s, ISO 100 and without flash. / White balance: custom / Focal length: 7.40mm / Metering: Pattern
