There you are free, all you can be, / And everything is real. / You could sit for a while, / Upon a sundial, / And chase the rays of the light, / You could float on the air, / Without any care, / Or fly with butterfly wings. / Buzz with the bees, and fly through the trees, / Float down with the falling leaves. You could go on a boat, / Through sparkling waters, / Made out of the shell of a tortoise. / Sit in the ring where the fairies all sing, / Drink, dance, fairy fling. / Diddle on the fiddle, play fairy in the middle, / Sparkle, shine, drink buttercup wine. / T’is close, you must believe, / Just follow the voice from within. There is a phenomenon that Jazz musicians call “Woodshedding” which is when a player retreats from the world of playing gigs and locks himself in a room (or woodshed as the case may be) until he “gets it right”..or has a breakthrough in his skill/creativity level.. Interestingly enough an artistic form of woodshedding is precisely what inspired this piece ; I have consciously been working on getting better as an artist and this piece represents the breakthrough – both in technique and in inspiration… Quite frankly – it is the first piece that I am truly satisfied with, the first where there isn’t a little voice telling me that I am not good enough and it is now the benchmark for my future works… I am never looking back again…

30×40cm Watercolour on Canson 300 gsm of a water wonderland. Played around with my watercolours just dropping the paint on creating a wet in wet background. The stunning colours inspired me to paint an imaginative under the sea scene and I truly hope this brightens your day!
