© Simone Byrne Photography, 2008. All Rights Reserved. 14th December, 2008 One of three old broken down piers at Clifton Springs on the Bellarine Peninsula. This is probably the least photographed of the three, well that I’ve seen anyway, but I rather like its narrow structure. I have always loved minimalist waterscapes and until now, without the aid of my trusty NDX400 filter, haven’t had a great deal of success, so this was my first real play with the new filter and I’m pretty happy with the result. The title kind of reflects where my life is heading at present (bad, BAD week!). Clifton Springs, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 46mm Exposure: 25 sec, f11, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Hoya CPL, Hoya NDX400 Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.

I like this one the best of the three as I think it has more character, the pelicans seem to agree. No sunset at all, but some lovely light and cloud made up for it. Clifton Springs, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 18mm Exposure: 120 sec, f16, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Hoya NDX400 Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au / Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.
© Simone Byrne Photography, 2009. All Rights Reserved. 3rd April, 2009 Point Richards jetty on the Bellarine Peninsula. I am really surprised that this image actually worked due to the extreme wind gusts that blew up just on sunset. I had to shield the tripod with my body to take this to make sure my camera wasn’t blown over. I like this image for its contrast of the impending storm above the jetty and the purity of the water below, kind of reminds me of life. I’d sooner stay below, but sometimes you have to stick your head up to see what’s coming! The white water was achieved by stacking my Cokins to give me a 5 stop ND Grad, only photoshopping here is a slight bump in contrast and saturation with curves. Point Richards, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 18mm Exposure: 15 sec, f16, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Cokin 121S/121M ND Grads Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.

© Simone Byrne Photography, 2009. All Rights Reserved. 3rd April, 2009 Sunset at Point Richards jetty on the Bellarine Peninsula. Was very lucky to get this as just on sunset a group of fishermen decided to come back in and I had people wandering all over the jetty. Finally they left, but the wind was blowing something fierce and the seaspray was horrendous, the only way to shoot the sunset was to wedge myself as close to the jetty as possible and shield the camera from the wind. Was the most challenging circumstances for photography I’ve faced, but I’m happy with this one. ND Grads stacked again to give a more dramatic effect. Point Richards, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 18mm Exposure: 0.8 sec, f16, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Cokin 121S/121M ND Grads Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.

Although I usually use bark, rocks and plants as the elements in my abstract images, I choose to experiment with using water as an abstract for the viewer to project what he or she perceives. This is a macro shot of a swimming pool. Some post production effects were used to create the diverse imagery. vibrant color and beautiful texture. To appreciate this photograph, please view it in the large format.
Edit: 6th March 2009 This image has been nominated for the Pay It Forward Group by Jared D White. Thank you so much Jared I am truly honoured by your gracious gesture and very kind words. Here is what Jared had to say in his nomination about my image: My nomination is Simone Byrne and one of my favorite images, Floating. Her photography has very few rivals, her stunning landscapes and immaculate HDR work is awe-inspiring and pushes me (among many) to improve my own work. Not only does she set an example but she takes the time to make simple tutorials for complex techniques. Thank you Simone for the beauty you show us and the guidance you provide! © Simone Byrne Photography, 2008.
