I was looking around other sites and I came across several redbubble images, mine included. I have not figured out the site yet but it looks like a place to play around with images and in some cases using the images to advertise the product they are selling, I think that is against the law…....not sure. The people using the images have a redbubble link with our username attached but I think it serves as more traffic to steal images…..not to increase chances of sales.I have contacted the company and told them that this is not a stock photograph company but the individuals are held responsible for the images they acquire. I copied some of the images they made with our images and I got a pretty decent result. If you go to polyvore and “TRY” the site, go to the search engine and type redbubble, you will find 7 pages of our images. There is no watermark on them,so they must have cropped them off.I wish there was a way to have a huge watermark displayed across the images only when someone tries to copy or print them. If you go for a visit, let me know what you think. Thank you, / Lisa

Almost every day I see people asking “how do I put pictures in my profile”. There are quite a number of tutorials on how to do this, and here is yet another. This one explains how to use the image from your “preview/buy” page in your profile, and also gives an explanation for creating a profile with smaller images, like the one below. The tutorial is written in a pdf format (for windows PC users – sorry mac people, I wish I could put the instructions in for you) and includes full link texts (difficult to put into a journal on Redbubble because the code you need to type in converts to images unless you leave spaces) and some screencaptures to help along the way. Download it from here: Profile Pics Tutorial This is only one of many other tutorials on this subject. There are times when I ask people if I can use their images for my art work. How it works for me and the person I am collaborating with is that once I have finished my work with their image I email it back to them in high res and ask them to post it on RedBubbe for 50% mark up as well as I do the same, so that myself or the other person own the art equally and we both have a chance to make a profit of the finished piece. If you were someone who is willing to let me use any of your images , feel free to comment here and let me know.

Quite a few people have asked me recently how to post framed images of their work under the buy button or in the description area, as I have done here I think it adds another dimension to your page and hopefully encourages people to go one step further than the buying a card option. Thought it might be a good idea to do a general post about this. Will also add this to the various group forums I’m in. Apologies if this has already been done elsewhere. Anyway, here’s how to do it! 1. click the “buy” button on your already uploaded image / 2. click “framed print” option / 3. right click and copy image address / 4. then go back to your ‘my bubble’ and click on your “art” tab and go to the pic you want to edit / 5. Paste image address in the description box / 6. add exclamation marks at the start and end of image address (don’t leave any spaces) / 6. Press save ...and voila! You have it! Bt the way this only works with pics in portrait mode not landscape (you can still insert landscape pics but the right hand side gets chopped off) Cheers & Good Luck / Loredana :-)

This is a question I see on a regular basis in the forums; sometimes in the journal entries as well. I know that RB has posted this information in the forums, though for most new people it’s difficult to find. When you run a search from “my bubble” it doesn’t pick up forum threads, and if you aren’t a forum watcher (or don’t know the forums are there) you don’t even know you can search there. For anybody looking for the base information for required image sizes, the forum thread to see is in The Learning Centre Forum – FAQ listing posted by Peter What the post doesn’t tell you is that the various print sizes differ from image to image, based on the uploaded size of your image. Below are the minimum redbubble required pixels for printing, as well as 3 images of my own showing the uploaded pixel size, and the resulting printout size at redbubble. I hope this will help give an idea of what you’ll get from the image size you have. NB: if you have images that aren’t large enough for what you want, please see the end of the post for help redBubble Minimum Sizes for Prints Cards: 1300 pixels X 900 pixels Small prints: 1600 pixels X 2400 pixels / Med. Prints: 2160 X 3240 pixels / Large prints: 2560 pixels X 3840 pixels Posters small: 2500 pixels X 3500 pixels / Posters medium: 3500 pixels X 5000 pixels / Posters large: 5000 pixels X 7100 pixels Clothing: 2400 pixels X 3200 pixels Here are 3 of my uploads with the uploaded pixel dimensions, and what I can print from them: Strokes of the Lily (uploaded size 4200 X 5067) Cards / Matted Prints 9.6 X 11.5 / All Other Prints: Small 8 X 9.65, Medium 12 X 14.48, Large 16 X 19.3 / Posters: Small 16.5 X 19.9, Medium 23.4 X 28.2 (large is not available) Softest Dreams (uploaded size 7200 X 5023) Cards / Matted Prints 12.6 X 8.8 / All Other Prints Small 11.4 X 8, Medium 17.2 X 12, Large 22.9 X 16 / Posters Small 23.3 X 16.2, Medium 33 X 23, Large 46.8 X 32.6 On The Wind (uploaded size 3900 X 2571) Cards / Matted Prints 12 X 8 / All Other Prints Small 12 X 7.9, Medium 18 X 11.8, Large 24 X 15.8 / Poster Small 23.3 X 15.3 (other sizes not available because the uploaded file is not large enough) What You can Do if Your Images are Too Small Please have a look at the links below – these are various methods and instructions for increasing your image size so you can print the larger image sizes on redbubble. WARNING: image quality must be excellent in order to increase from small to large, so be sure your original sized image is of good quality. Increasing your images too much will cause artifacting that will show up in your large print. Basic Resizing Tutorial / How I Enlarge Images and Preserve Their Quality by Steven Love I know there are other image size tutorials, but I wasn’t able to find them doing a search. OK, many people ask me how I get my black and white photos done, and most of the time I try my hardest to explain it all through a reply email. But recently a bubbler bubblemailed me and asked, so THIS time I figured I’d draw one up. So 4 hours later and I think Im done. WARNING: LARGE LARGE LARGE FILE!! WILL TAKE A WHILE TO DOWNLOAD But once downloaded, I suggest that you right-click and SAVE, so you dont have to come back each time. =) And another thing – sorry if there is incorrect spelling, punctuation etc. I didnt read over it! OKIE DOKIE – so for starters, pick a image you would like to turn into black and white. Ive made this tut to suit a portrait photo. You can do it with landscape, etc. Just with some common knowledge of where to edit and put things. Shouldn’t be too hard! So here is my orginal: / This is a photo of my mate Tristan. Pretty plain photo of him sitting in the car, on our way to the races. =) HERE WE GO! WOO-LAH! I also just edit to get rid of his moles, etc. That might be my next tutorial – haha! Hope this helps guys! Feel free to comment if you need help etc. I’ll try and do my best to answer them for you!

Now I discovered a rather useful tip for up-sizing photos for poster printing. Up until a few months ago any photo scaling I did was left to be resampled by PS. This isn’t a good idea generally. Now when providing images for use on RB they ask for BIG files so I have been having to upscale some of my shots. Some of the seasoned pros may do this the way I will describe, others may not. I have found that doing it this way upscales your images massively without any obvious loss in quality. (Thats not to say that there is not any though) Open your image to be upscaled and open the Image size Dialog box from the Image menu in PS. Select “Percentage” in the document sizes drop down menus and enter the amount you wish to upscale – I usually use 200% Then enter 360 pixels/inch as your resolution. Check the RESAMPLE box and select the BICUBIC SHARPER option (Note this is recommended for down-sampling your images in PS – but just trust me) Click ok and your image is resampled. Take a good look at 100% zoom and be amazed at the quality. It really doesn’t lose much in the resampling. Let me know what you think people :D

  • HOW I WORK MY IMAGES?

It all depends on the photograph that I am taking as to how I will work it to a finish. This may sound a bit long-winded, but to really understand how my photograph is being worked, it all comes together in a picture that you see in my portfolio on Redbubble! Most of my photographs have been taken in RAW, with my digital camera, Canon EOS 350D and EOS 20D. Not that this should make any difference to the image. Sometimes I will create an image with Sophia’s camera which is a compact zoom 8. Megapix. “Trapped in the light” was taken with that camera and was taken in JPG for ease of use. As for “Searching for Spring” , this image was HDR processed. To do this I have taken three images of the same, making sure that the camera is solid on a tripod, to avoid moving it from position. I then take three exposures of the same image. / 1 photograph is taken two stop over exposed, 1 photograph is taken two stops under exposed and the other 1 is correctly exposed. The subject, in Sophia’s case had to remain absolutely still down to her eyes, which is hard for a five year old to do! But she was a very good girl and it has taken her all the concentration to do it, and it is that what has given her this serious look bless her. I had no intention to portray her as an evil child, so that is something to watch out for when using HDR on youngsters! I always prefer to use natural surroundings and available light from that surrounding. I don’t like using flash, because I feel it can destroy the mood that natural light can create for me. For instance, the HDR method that I have used on Sophia in the mentioned image, the sun is behind her. To use flash would have completely changed the feel and the mood of the photography. Try this for yourself and look at the difference in your pictures and see what I mean? The type of light you use determines the mood that you want to create! This is true for any kind of photography. To create HDR images, I have downloaded Photomatix basic from Google search, and this is FREE! Any one who is interested in HDR? There is a group in RB that may be very useful and helpful to learn. Enhance Photo > Photo Fix / After I’ve HDR’d “Searching for Spring” in Photomatix basic, I opened this picture in Corel paintshop pro XI. In this software, I have “Enhance Photo” and open to “Smart Photo Fix”. This tool has several applications to darken or lighten the shadow area without affecting the over all photograph. The Overall slider affects the whole of the image by darkening or lighting it. A little bit like fill in light. The Highlight slider only affects the highlights of your picture. Then there is the Saturation slider and Focus slider, when you’ve finished, you click OK! I use this on most of my photographs to improve the overall appearance. Selection tool/Lasso tool / Now, I want to isolate and section areas that I feel needs working on without affecting the rest of my photograph! To do this I love the lasso tool or the selection tool that looks like a lasso. I zoom right into the picture for maximum control but leave enough room so that I can still recognise the edges that I need to go around with my selection tool. To select the horizon or the sky, I try to avoid the trees and bushes if I can, for they can get to dark or even black and will ruin the picture. Feather / Before I lasso, I decide what effect I want with the Feather tool from the select tool. This will determine if the edges are going to be smooth and straight, which would be 0! Or if I want a layering or vignette effect around the subject? This would be from 1 – 200! I suggest you should experiment to get to know how the feather effect looks on your work. This is all down to personal preferences. It is a bit like, how much salt do you like on your food? Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Curves / Once the portion has been selected and I have lassoed around the sky, I will go into Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Curves, select curves! A box comes up and you see your selected part of the image in a window. This is the part that is going to be worked on. In my case, I want to darken the sky and bring out the drama of the clouds. In the box there is a diagonal line. Grab the middle of the line and move it about. You will see how the selected part is changing in contrast. I drag the middle of the line slightly down until I am happy with the result, and then click ok! Get familiar with the different tools and experiment with them! This is what I do and am still learning. I build up my experience through experimenting. The result is seen in my portfolio in Redbubble for all to see! Invert selection / If I want to save time and work on the foreground of the picture, while the sky is still selected. I go into Selection and click on Invert. Or you tap on “Alt + Shift + I” to invert my selection. Now my foreground is selected and the sky deselected. Experiment / In the case of “Searching for Spring” I only selected Sophia by lassoing all around her and the Feather on 0. I needed to bring out detail that would otherwise be lost. / I have tried several applications, like Levels, Curves and even Histogram Adjustment. / These can all be found in, Adjust > Brightness and Contrast. Trying very hard to keep her in harmony with her surrounding. The same was also done with the table that Sophia stood on. Finally to the black and white effect! Adjust > Color > Channel Mixer / This method applies to most of my black and white images, whether they are a straight shot or have been enhanced first. I go into Adjust > Color > Channel Mixer, tick the Monochrome box. Red will default to 100, while green and blue to 0. This usually turns the blue sky very dark, and the skin or anything that has red in it very pale to white. A good guidance that I have learned from someone was, to make sure that, which ever way you choose to move the slider to maintain a total of 100%. As an example only; / Red% -40, Green% 28, Blue% 112, and it adds up 100%! Play about with that to get a feel for how this makes your black and white photograph look. / If the red lightens red, the green slider should lighten anything green and the blue, blue! / Use your judgement and then click ok. But make sure you don’t burn out any highlights in your photograph. This can look ugly if it is overdone. Once I am satisfied, I click ok and move on to the next treatment. Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Histogram Adjustment. / To finish of my picture I will go into Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Histogram Adjustment. There is a slider on the side that will affect the contrast of the image. Slide it down, the contrast increases. Slide it up and it will decrease. I like to increase the contrast, trying not to burn out highlights in Sophia’s face. On the bottom of the box of the histogram there are little triangles, / Low Gamma High / Move the middle triangle Gamma towards the high, and will bring out details in the shadow area. While moving towards the Low, it will bring out details in the highlights. / That is where the selection tool will also be useful if you don’t want to affect the rest of the picture but only one aspect. Click ok and I am almost done! Final finishing touches! Learning centre > Home > Effects > film and filter / Corel Paintshop XI have this extra facility that I love t use for effects. It has a learning centre > home > effects > film and filter. I love the Glamour and Warming, which I have been using with “Trapped in the light”. And finally save the finished work which you get to see on Redbubble if I am happy with it! Thank you all who have shown so much interest in my work and wanted to know about how I did them? I hope it makes sense and is easy enough to follow? My best regards Sylvia!

Sometimes, for whatever reason, artists find their work being used without permission. Recently this happened to a collaborative work I did with Helen McLean. Let me share with you how we handled it. Randy posted this journal entry and I noticed that there was a picture of me on the invitation. “that’s odd” I thought. Not knowing how it got there, my first stop was to check with Helen, who I had collaborated with on the image to find out if she had given permission for it’s use. I also asked Randy who had posted the journal, if he knew anything. We all drew a blank but Randy very helpfully put us in touch with the organizer of the event. Before we did anything else we thought about how this might have happened. The organizer was most probably provided with the image and had no idea we owned it. In fact, even the person who supplied it may have been unaware it was covered by copyright. We also realized that had we been asked, we almost certainly would have given permission for it’s use with a credit and link. With all this in mind, we sent a polite email which presumed innocence and provided the appropriate evidence of ownership. Hello David, I’m writing to you regarding an image which appears on your site http://www.definitelysuperior.com/exhibitions.html and on your invitations. I have attached a screen shot of the site where it is shown and a copy of the invitation. This image is of me, as taken by photographer Helen McLean. We have conjoined rights to the image and neither of us remembers giving permission for it to be used in this manner. I realize you may not have known this when it was published and used on your invitations. I have attached the full sized version (with an appropriate watermark and minus any post processing) to this email to verify I own the source copy. Helen and I are happy for the image to be used if we are credited as photographer and model with a link to “http://www.redbubble.com/search/helenjocollab”. Otherwise, I am requesting that it be taken down and that the invitation be changed to remove it so that any more printed do not use this image. Thank you very much for your assistance with this, and I look forward to your reply at your earliest convenience. Jo O’Brien & Helen McLean What Happened Next? We got a lovely email back apologizing for the use of the image, explaining how it had come to appear on the site and with a promise to update the site to include a credit and link to our work. It had been an honest mistake that they were more than happy to correct. What did we learn? You don’t need to be angry and demanding to work things out People can genuinely be unaware they are infringing copyright People can actually be reasonable, rational and helpful A negative can become a positive with the right attitude Our image with a link to our other work is now out there on the internet, reaching a niche market and gaining exposure for our work.

Many RB members have asked me how I did my home page to look the way it does and I thought I would enter a journal to describe just how it was done. I hope it will be of help to you all. HOW TO USE LINKS AND IMAGES TO ENHANCE YOUR RB HOME PAGE Please open my home page before you start working as I used my profile page, as example! / (To get this, go to any free clipart site, choose your country’s flag, right click on the image, choose properties & copy the full URL-address. Then open your “EDIT MY PROFILE”-link, put an exclamation mark (!) and then paste the copied URL-address of the image and end again with an exclamation mark (!). / It will look like this (remember, DO NOT PUT IN ANY SPACES BETWEEN THE ADDRESS AND THE EXCLAMATION MARKS!) ! http://www.allfreeclipart.com/flags/flag73.gif ! / (To get this, go to any free clipart site, choose your zodiac sign, right click on the image, choose properties & copy the full URL-address. Then open your “EDIT MY PROFILE”-link, put an exclamation mark (!) and then paste the copied URL-address of the image and end again with an exclamation mark (!). / It will look like this (remember, DO NOT PUT IN ANY SPACES BETWEEN THE ADDRESS AND THE EXCLAMATION MARKS!) ! http://www.freefever.com/animatedgifs/animated/zodiacleo4.gif ! / (To get this, go to any free clipart site, choose your favourite e-mail clip art, right click on the image, choose properties & copy the full URL-address. Then open your “EDIT MY PROFILE”-link, put an exclamation mark (!) and then paste the copied URL-address of the image and end again with an exclamation mark (!). / It will look like this (remember, DO NOT PUT IN ANY SPACES BETWEEN THE ADDRESS AND THE EXCLAMATION MARKS!) ! http://www.allfreeclipart.com/email/mail13.gif ! / (To get this, go to your own online gallery site, choose your favourite banner (usually supplied by the web hosts) , right click on the image, choose properties & copy the full URL-address. Then open your “EDIT MY PROFILE”-link, put an exclamation mark (!) and then paste the copied URL-address of the image and end again with an exclamation mark (!). It will look like this (remember, DO NOT PUT IN ANY SPACES BETWEEN THE ADDRESS AND THE EXCLAMATION MARKS!) ! http://www.imagekind.com/images/buttons/buy_my_art.gif ! / (These two icons, I got from the two RedBubble Groups in their Forum Postings. Go check & find your links there. Then do the same as above.) eg. ! http://images-1.redbubble.com/img/art/cropped/size:small/view:main/958066-1-pimt-logo.jpg ! and ! http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7122/1on1iu5.png ! To put shortcut images on your home page, follow the next steps: / 1) Go to your PUBLIC PROFILE (Open in another tab so you keep your EDIT PROFILE tab open to work on) / 2) Click on VIEW ALL ART (underneath your featured images – the big ones) / 3) Choose the pic you want to display on the front page, right click on the image, go to PROPERTIES, highlight the full URL-ADDRESS, close (OK). / 4) Go to EDIT MY PROFILE tab, type in an ! (exclamation mark), right click & paste the URL ADDRESS you copied. / 5) Now you can do one of two things: / (a) Just add the image without linking it to the picture (where people leave their comments) This is done by just typing the !, followed by the URL ADDRESS, ending with another ! (Remember, no spaces). Eg. ! http://images-0.redbubble.net/img/art/size:small/view:main/1580804-1-shed-a-tear-at-my-beauty.jpg ! Also remember to highlight the full URL-ADDRESS when you copy, i.e. see to it that you have a .jpg or .png or .gif at the end of the address and a http://images-0.redbubble.net ….. at the beginning as shown in the example coloured in pink above. / (b) Add the image and the link taking the user to the page where your image is displayed. This is done as follows: Follow steps 1 to 4 above, type in an exclamation mark (!), followed by the FULL URL-ADDRESS, then another exclamation mark. Now add a colon ( : ). Leave as is and then go to the page (in another tab or a new page) where your photo/image is displayed to the public (the place where people can leave comments). Look at the top (all the way up where your Internet Explorer Page shows the URL-ADDRESS of the page you are on now) eg. http://www.redbubble.com/people/craftloft/art Copy this address by highlighting all and right click and copy. Go back to your EDIT YOUR PROFILE tab, paste this copied info immediately after the colon ( : ). No exclamation mark is necessary at the end of this procedure. / 6) Follow these steps with all the images you want to put on your front page. Remember to put a space between EACH image description if you want to put your images next to each other. And when you’ve added five images, remember to enter and then start with the next five images, etc. until you are finished) When you’re finished remember to save your work. I always save and then view my public profile in another tab to see if I made mistakes. / 7) As shown on my home page, I usually just put five xsmall pics next to another, but the size I explained above, is small. If you want the images to be as small as mine just change the small to xsmall by typing in the x before the small in the copied URL ADDRESS of the image (under properties). Eg. http://images-2.redbubble.net/img/art/size:small/view:main/1620163-2-swan-wannabe.jpg Change the small to xsmall and you get the same size pics as shown below. By Darren Stones With the New Year upon us, have you considered where you are going to purchase your ‘08 calendars? Before you go shopping, spare a moment or two. The courier has just delivered a new-release RedBubble calendar courtesy of James Pierce. Calendar contains pics from onetonshadow. My first impression of the calendar is that it’s a premium product and has plenty of weight – not some cheap and nasty looking thing. It’s an A3 size – in plain speak that measures; 11.7in x 16.5in or 297mm x 420mm. The cover page consists of a white matte paper which has a chunky feel to it (300gsm for the tech minded). Quite simply, it looks and feels good. From a marketing viewpoint, I believe it needs the artist’s name included on the cover page. Something for the RedBubble team to consider. The monthly calendar pages are made of (175gsm) white matte paper which has a clean fresh look. The numerals on each monthly page are not overly large, although they are easy to read. Being grey, they are more subtle than obvious and don’t distract from the artwork. There’s plenty of room to scrawl birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and due dates for your favourite debts. The title of each image and artist’s name is printed underneath the image on each of the calendar month pages. The artist’s RedBubble URL is also printed in the bottom right corner of each monthly page. So, there’s good exposure for those seeking world domination regarding sales. The binding is the white plastic-coated type and it allows for easy turning of each page. It seems a good choice for the product as the pages hang flat. Remember, 2008 is a leap year so there’s a smidgeon of extra value contained. Humpback Whale Calendar 2008 – for sale Reviewer’s note: My qualification for reviewing calendars; I’ve been on the planet for nearly 15,000 days.

I have been asked how to get the images on my profile, I hope the following helps. A few people have written about how to get images onto your home page. This is a link for some help link This how to get the image of the card: Navigate to the location of the card public profile then click the picture of the photograph you want, next click buy preview. This page should then show your photograph as a card. Using the mouse pointer, point to the photograph and then right click. A box should open which has a number of options, select property’s and click. Now look under the heading location there should be an address such as http:// etc copy this entire location into the about me section in your profile and insert an exclamation mark at the front and back of this address. To make this a clickable link insert a colon after the last exclamation mark : Then if you want image to link to your buy page for example, copy the page address from the address bar in your browser and insert this after the colon you just placed in the code in your about me section. it should appear like this !Card address!:Page address This works with ANY photograph, to post the framed photograph navigate to the framed version then copy the location and put between two exclamation marks in the about me section or journal entry or add photo section or description box etc.then to link to a web page colon then page address. Note make sure there are no spaces in the code you type! I hope this makes sense. Paul

  • Redbubble on steroids for Firefox users
    by Roger Barnes

There’s nifty Firefox extension called Greasemonkey that lets you customize the way a web page displays using small bits of JavaScript. Hundreds of scripts, for a wide variety of popular sites, are already available at http://userscripts.org , and now there’s one for redbubble. Based on a script for displaying large versions of thumbnails on facebook, I’ve created one that shows large image previews of art and clothing when hovering over most thumbnails and many links on redbubble.com. To give it a whirl, install Firefox (as if you haven’t already), install Greasemonkey (requires browser restart), then install my script (just click on it and Greasemonkey should pick it up) Then when you load a page, hover over a thumbnail or art/clothing link and gasp in amazement at the amount of time you’ve saved not clicking through (which you can still do of course). I got addicted to it very quickly, so much so that I immediately missed it when using another computer. This is a first release and may have a quirk or 3. Comments/feedback welcome here. Update 04JAN08: Fixed the bugs that Xavier reported, writing now works, and the hover disappears when it should. To update, install it again at the link above.

Over in RedBubble HQ land, I get asked to do all sorts of stuff and recently Peter thought it might be funny useful to make some help videos on how to do some typical RedBubble stuff. Those link thingies are created with !’s and :’s ie: ! image ! : link (without any spaces) You have two options … (1) With a link to original location, (2) or without. I highly recommend you to write all your work in an editor (ie, Microsoft Notepad), then test in your own journal because you can delete it if you ‘screw up’. This is easier to do with Mozilla Firefox I hope that helps. Similar Articles: ASCII Characters in your RedBubble Journal / Coding Your Redbubble / Format Found by Accident

There is a lot of info around about how to do this, but tracking it down can be hard. So, as I’ve been asked quite a few times in the last few days about how to do this, I thought I would try and gather mine, and others’ info together. / / The idea of featuring other Bubblers was kicked off as an idea by Paul Louis Villani respect to Paul. the way to do it is as follows: There are some little bits of ‘code’ that you need to use and put into the description box. I’ll use THE PALM HOUSE PAGE as an example. Part 1a – the bit of text – Do check out Kara Rasmanis’ great portfolio / NOTE: this text can be whatever you want it to be. Part 2a – the web address of the page you want to link to using this text – http://www.redbubble.com/people/kvalle / NOTE: this is the public view web address of the person Part 3a – web address of the person’s I.D. picture – http://images-0.redbubble.com/rbimages/overview_bio_pic/KV.jpg / NOTE: to get this, go to the public page of the person, right-click their I.D. photo, left-click properties, and then you can left-click-hold and highlight the actual web address of their I.D. photo and COPY it and the PASTE it. Part 4a – and finally, if you want to make the picture a clickable link as well, which is nice, you repeat the web address of the page you want to link to – http://www.redbubble.com/people/kvalle joining it all together You don’t use conventional HTML tags to make it all work. Instead you use DOUBLE SPEECH MARKS, COLONS and EXCLAMATION MARKS and – importantly – NO SPACES anywhere. important: I have to use spaces to let you see what is going on Part 1b – DOUBLE SPEECH MARKS Do check out Kara Rasmanis’ great portfolio DOUBLE SPEECH MARKS COLON Part 2b – right after the COLON – http://www.redbubble.com/people/kvalle / NOTE: this turns the text into a clickable link (if you only want a text link, you need do no more) / NOTE: for the adventurous, you can press ENTER-SPACE-ENTER at this point and it will make a blank line between the test link and the picture, which looks nicer. If you are not adventurous, don’t worry. Part 3b – EXCLAMATION MARK http://images-0.redbubble.com/rbimages/overview_bio_pic/KV.jpg EXCLAMATION MARK / NOTE: this puts the picture in place on the page. Part 4b – and finally, add another COLON to make the picture clickable – COLON http://www.redbubble.com/people/kvalle Voila – it all looks like this and it is this that you put into the description box / / It should result in something like this Do check out Kara Rasmanis’ great portfolio / And the adventurous version….. Do check out Kara Rasmanis’ great portfolio / / You do it exactly the same, using 1b & 2b, for a clickable link, in comment boxes, or in Bubblemails. You can just use 3b on its own for inserting a picture Use 3b + 4b to make that picture clickable There is more information on all this here and more here and a CheatSheet here and StacyLee’s here and it’s worth going to The Learning Centre as well hope this helps. Any questions, do ask. dave
