A horror piece inspired by the multitude of atrocities man/woman inflicts upon him/herself and the rest of the world for personal gain, and in a lot of cases just for the hell of it.

This girl has climbed all this way to get the exact flower she wants. Originally an illustration done in ink.
Medium: Acrylic and Watercolour Paint on Paper / Size: A4 / Description: About an octopus who has developed a suit so that he may walk with the humans. A piece to fulfill my curiosity with octopuses and old looking diving helmets. The character’s odd infatuation with the human race mirrors my own with his species. Completed in 2008. Airbrushed and mixed media My Work Was Featured In Fantasy Art / (Thanks Everyone) Read the Collaboration of Written Work by Tony Hedger Part 2 of 2 / The way to get there is many in choice, / But a good first step is the inner voice. / By air, or water, by earth or fire, / Fairyland is your hearts desire. There you are free, all you can be, / And everything is real. / You could sit for a while, / Upon a sundial, / And chase the rays of the light, / You could float on the air, / Without any care, / Or fly with butterfly wings. / Buzz with the bees, and fly through the trees, / Float down with the falling leaves. You could go on a boat, / Through sparkling waters, / Made out of the shell of a tortoise. / Sit in the ring where the fairies all sing, / Drink, dance, fairy fling. / Diddle on the fiddle, play fairy in the middle, / Sparkle, shine, drink buttercup wine. / T’is close, you must believe, / Just follow the voice from within. Ever get the feeling that everyone’s staring at you when you get on that bus to work every morning? Well, I did (before I shed the shackles of the day job and became a freelancer at least!) and that’s what inspired this painting – commuters on the top deck, always curious to see who’s entering their domain.
Walking towards the edge of a once flattened world, he realized his species sometimes need another consciousness which feels and sees the imaginary but possible paths living in more dimensions nowadays offers… That expedition sometimes requires to see things differently… In Einsteins world time is change… Nothing seems to be obvious. Although the boundaries of our imagination also seem to look quite endless I think it still requires more flexibility in looking at things to understand possibilities within change. Oh man I’ve been dying to work on one of my illustrations lately. In between all the experimenting with my video art and everything involved with my Uni major project, it feels really good to sit down and work on one of these. / The title comes from the lyrics in a song called Unstoppable by Mako, written by Declan O’Shea. The song is one of my all time favorites, beautifully written with a strong emotive undertow that carries through the track. / My thanks to Declan for writing such a great song. It’s very inspiring to me.

Watercolor and pencil on illustration board, / 10×8 / 2009 Model: Adhara Batul One of the Greek myths I adore the most, for its incredible strength, poetry and significance, is the myth of Persephone. In Greek mythology, Persephone was the goddess of the underworld and of the Spring growth. Daughter of Demeter, goddess of the harvest, she was abducted by Hades and taken to the land of the dead. By a determination of the Fates, she was forced to stay for two seasons each year after eating pomegranates seeds, thus becoming consort of Hades and queen of the underworld. This time I opted by depicting her sorrow and solitude after having the seeds, although there’s quite an air of resignation with her destiny.
Many thanks for viewing. / Ironically, I completed this today Friday June 19, which is my nephew’s birthday. weird!
Many thanks for viewing.
