I thought I’d post a “normal” version of this design, I rather like it too. For those of you who love the rocket fabric, I have been invited to join Spoonflower which is a fabric printing service. A lot like The Bub, you upload your design suitable for tiling, blah blah blah. So I will upload it, and give it a go. A while ago, for Naked & Angry I had designed a Hungry Hungry Hippos fabric, which I adore, so I will upload that too to get printed. I’ll keep you all posted!! We could have TBO pyjamas pants with matching RB tees yet!!!!! 同志 – same mind, comrade, kindred soul
Medium : Pen and Ink size : 11’’ x 15’’ Bristol Board Date : 1993 This study of a piano was done for a woman who was a missionary with her husband. They served in a Christian ministry that reached out to military personal and their families, through the teaching of the Holy Bible and showing hospitality. They have been missionaries most of their lives. I met them while i was a summer missionary the year I was in college. I went back two more summer to help , and they became my friends. The woman is a gifted piano player, so I was asked if i could do an illustration of her piano for her. This couple have inspired me through their dedication of using their lives to serve God through serving others, that many may know God through the teaching, and living out the Word before others.

From A book of Opposites for Axiom Books Australia
A proposed cover for ‘Birds of a Feather”, a children’s book written and illustrated by the artist. A masked ball is held at Eagle-nest Hall, all manner of feathered guests attend and are treated to a sumptuous feast, well almost. Lurking in the bushes and waiting to gate-crash when the food arrives on enormous platters is a small flock of birds who are offended at being left off the Guest List; Vultures. An outrageous frolic in rhyme and meter with guzzling, burping, slurping and general feathered mayhem ensues.
From the 2009 release children’s book, I’D RATHER BE A DOG
Children’s picture book piece and companion to BIRDS OF A FEATHER, this one isn’t… quite finished… but is, I feel, not letting the Redbubble side down by not being quite “there”. All that is needed is some slight colour to the gravel in the near foreground and middle ground areas; with some touches of raw sienna shadowing on the more obvious gravel pieces. Hope it’s okay with the Redbubble auditors????.
A children’s book internal illustration and companion to the coloured pencil piece, / WALTER THE WIZARD.
One of three covers done for Story books written by the American Story Teller and Author, Mark Binder. To be published in 2009 by InkStone Press, Australia.
(This one is for you, Patricia.) Here’s a very early work that saw three manifestations, this being the third and finished version…The first two were in near finished states when first one daughter, aged three, got into the room I was then using as a work space and tipped a bottle of ink over the half completed drawing…the second version saw my two year old daughter figure out the locking mechanism I’d put on the door and finding the pretty picture without colour, she coloured it in for me…Using stipple as my technique for tonal work at this time, meant that this picture at 20 X 30 cms, took me about two and a half to three months to complete; not counting the two previous attempts. (The style of woman’s face I used was very much influenced by Norman Lindsay’s approach to his womens faces…I no longer use it as I have found my own voice.)
Another from my days with “the black dog”, my inspiration, so to speak…
An Arthurian inspired piece from the very earl 80s.

This work is part of my exhibition : / Joy of Spring’s Colours. / What is a fantasy ? / what is an illustion ? Are fantasies and Illusions are one.. or maybe the illusion is a consequence of the fantasy. / Do you think fantasies, and illusions are part of reality… ? / Does fantasy or illusion enrich life… ? / Would you prefer living your life with a fantasy or without it ? ___________ I think fantasy and illusion, both are state of dream… I have and had my fantasies and illusions.. _________ / I’m taking a vacation from the site, since many issues need my attention outside of here.
