Walk straight down the path on the left past the gooseberry bush to the right of the old oak tree with the twisted branches. Past the babbling brook where the three blue stepping stones show the wrong path. Through the meadow where the poppies sway. I was playing around with an IR picture of a tree. It was ok, but uninspiring. So I did a simple colour substitution and got what I call a tree on fire. Still ok, but not outstanding enough. Then I used a radial blur. My eyes got torn off. It seems to go in and out and my eyes with it. Maybe it’s just me ….. It needs to be reasonably sized so not sure how well it will go on here. Maybe try the ‘large’ version. I’ll be interested in your opinions. It is displaying landscape for some reason ….. not sure why. Please turn monitors to the left ….. (no don’t do it really!) I rotated it to the wrong way then uploaded it so now it appears ok. i’m confused but happy :)

I painted this for an inspirational friend (see Kate with painting here) as a present. The imagery of the woman-tree came about through a poem I once read which spoke of women being like a community of trees – everyone is sheltered under her leaves and protected/nourished by her deep, stable roots.
