It is just one of hundred of miles of dirt road trails in the Boise National Forest. This falls runs year round, but during the winter the only way to it is by snowmobile, it is just off the snowmobile trail, so pretty hard to get to in the winter. You can hear it, but it is so rugged, it could be dangerous to try and get close enough to get a shot in the winter. This compliments a frontal shot of the falls, and they make a great pair of wall art. This shot was taken as is.

Using my Canon Rebel XLT, at 100 ISO, USING THE REGULAR LENS. Because of the storm clouds I felt it gave different lighting and depth. This is where I use to live. Lived here in a fifth wheel for five years. Dream of the day I can go back. This is home in my heart. This lake is as deep as 200 ft., and has hot springs in it. Taken as is. The distant mountain with snow on it, is called steel mountain, and at the top has an old volcanic lava tube. There are hot springs all around the area. I always called it the best kept secret in the United States. At the end of the lake here, is a town called Pine. Further in you will find Paradise, and Featherville. Paradise is where Trinity Springs Water is from. This area is the Trinity Mountain range area. One of my most favorite places to still go for photo shoots. Lots of wildlife. In winter there is over 300 miles of snow mobile trails. Anderson Ranch Reservoir is formed by Anderson Ranch Dam which is part of the Boise Project. Recreation on this 7.4 square mile (4,730-acre) reservoir is managed by the Boise National Forest, (Boise National Forest map). The reservoir is approximately 14 miles long, a mile wide, with depths to 315 feet, and 50 miles of shoreline. Hiking, boating, waterskiing, and fishing are the major recreation activities at Anderson Ranch Reservoir, located southeast of Boise.Camp Creek Trail is a moderately difficult 6 mile hiking/biking trail in the area. Elevation gain is 1,500 feet. Drive up Fall Creek Road about 3 miles then turn right on to FS Rd. 128 and go about a mile to reach the trailhead. Fish species are kokanee, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and bull trout. Season open year-round. Reservoir acre feet and total reservoir capacity and cubic feet/second release rates for rivers below Boise & Payette River Basins reservoirs and select river locations are updated daily and graphically provided. Site offers: vault toilets, boat ramp and dock, Forest Service campgrounds at Deer Creek (30-units), Curlew Creek (25-units), and Fall Creek (20-units), and swimming. Private Campgrounds at Pine, Deer Creek, and Featherville.

It is a waterfall on the Snake River located approximately five miles east of Twin Falls, Idaho. Sometimes called the “Niagara of the West,” Shoshone Falls is 212 feet (64.7 m) high-36 feet (10.97 m) higher than Niagara Falls- and flows over a rim 900 feet (274 m) wide. A park overlooking the waterfall is owned and operated by the City of Twin Falls. Shoshone Falls is best viewed in the spring as diversion of the Snake River for irrigation often significantly diminishes water levels in the summer and fall. Shoshone Falls has existed for 30,000 to 60,000 years. It is a total barrier to the upstream movement of fish. The falls was the upper limit of sturgeon, and spawning runs of salmon and steelhead could not pass the falls. Yellowstone cutthroat trout lived above the falls in the same ecological niche as Rainbow Trout below it. Due to this marked difference, the World Wide Fund for Nature used Shoshone Falls as the boundary between the Upper Snake and the Columbia Unglaciated freshwater ecoregions. Only 35% of fish species of the upper Snake River are shared with the lower Snake and Columbia rivers. Fourteen fish species found in the upper Snake are also found in the Bonneville freshwater ecoregion (which covers the Great Basin portion of Utah), but not the lower Snake or Columbia rivers. The upper Snake River is also high in freshwater mollusk endemism (such as snails and clams).[1]. Used my Canon EOS, Digital Rebel XT, with Canon Ultra Sonic Zoom EF Lens 70-300 mm., 1:4-5.6, with Image Stabilizer. I took this shot on March 15, 2009.

TAKEN AS IS South of the Bruneau Sand Dunes stretches the spectacular Bruneau Canyon which splits the desert flats. Bighorn sheep and antelope abound in the area. The Paiute Indians originally discovered the canyon centuries ago and their elaborate drawings are found on rock slabs across the desert. Expect 30 minutes to travel the 12 miles of good gravel road to a small park that overlooks the canyon with spectacular views. We locals call this Idaho’s Grand Canyon.

They are rated by Sunset Magazine as one of the Northwest’s main points of interest. In country that easily gets above 100 degrees in the summer, the caves maintain a constant interior temperature of 18 to 33 degrees. Bring your coat and sturdy shoes. Tours take visitors through a 1,000-foot-long cavern that is some forty feet high and varies in width from eight to thirty feet. At the far end of the cave is a wall of ice of unknown depth, despite repeated attempts to determine it. To understand these caves, you must know that as molten lava poured over the land now known as the Snake River Plain, bubbles, tubes, and fissures formed on a grand scale. Shoshone Ice Caves are actually a series of craters lying against a volcanic rampart that cooled earlier than the ice caves did.

The west end has a wheelchair-accessible trail to the lake. Cleveland Lake is located above Burley, Idaho. This is a very rugged rural area.
