  • We had an ice storm last night and everything looks so pretty all covered in ice. Not very good weather to drive in but great for picture taking. I turned this one into black and white which I rarely do. I’m trying to experiment with different color tones. Comments appreciated :-) **Taken with a Canon 20d

  • This is trail #3 coming out of Rocky Hollow and back up into the woods. The icicles were all along the top of the canyon walls – Some were 4 – 5 feet long hanging down!!

I just know it flows towards Leavenworth out of the Cascade Mountains in Washington and you can get to it via Icicle Road which is just off the main street heading west out of town.   • THIS ICE FORMATION HANGING FROM THE EAVES OVER THE BALCONY BEHIND MY APARTMENT AND THE EFFECT THE LAMPS HAD ON THE LIGHT COMMING THROUGH IT FASCINATED ME. I DON’T KNOW WHAT KIND OF LAMPS THEY USE, BUT THE EFFECT STRUCK ME AS PRETTY UNUSUAL.

  • The translucent ice, and blue light reflected off the water of the creek, make this one of my favorite photographs. / Enjoy a large mounted print of this photograph to enjoy the almost 15,000,000 pixels used to create it.

  • NOT funny hiking weather – this is the cairn at the top of the third hill we climbed – all weather hit us, some sun ( tiny amount), hail( stinging), sleet (wet), rain ( very wet) , fog ( couldn’t see) then snow !!! . Long arduous climbing up and down – do I do this for fun!!?? / This is showing you the freezing wind blown sleet having been forced against the cross bars marking the top and frozen into striated icicle type shapes. According to our ever mindful leader this tells us it shows you the direction of the wind – as if we didn’t know!!! The hills we climbed were White Hill ( ha Ha), Finbracks and Manywee ( many wee what? – icicles !!) in Perthshire. / Best viewed large. / !

  • Love the color and reflections in this…reminded me of a melting icicle so I flipped it:) Guess you could put it on your wall upside down or right side up…I won’t tell:) /
