Taken at Hafravatn near Reykjavík, iceland. The lightshow was amasing and i got lucky to catch some of it.
Title due to a very horse like shape on the horizon that I hadn’t previously noticed, not sure if it will be noticeable on viewable size.. or if it was a horse! Taken in Iceland, February 2008.

Yesterday night (10. April 2009) I got out like I usually do when we have level 2 and more in aurora forecast. The sky was filled with Aurora Borealis mostly on level 2-3 but we got absolutly breathtaking show when the lights kicked up the level to 4-5 which lasted for 2-3 minutes. Then it went to level 2 again.

Strokkur (Icelandic for "churn") is a geyser in the geothermic region beside the Hvítá River in Iceland at [show location on an interactive map] 64°18′46.55″N 20°18′3.48″W / 64.3129306°N 20.3009667°W / 64.3129306; -20.3009667 in the suothwest part of the country, east of Reykjavik. Strokkur is only a few meters away from Geysir. However, unlike Geysir which erupts infrequently and may be dormant for years at a time, Strokkur erupts very reliably every 2-6 minutes, hurling boiling water to heights of up to 20 metres (70ft) towards the sky. Today I was going to go for a ride on my Icelandic Mare Dyfra, on my small farm in NW Oregon. However, Nari the fixed Maincoon that we brought home from the local shelter over a year ago had different ideas. / She thought nothing was warmer than soft Icelandic horse fur under her paws, so she made herself at home. You can see how content she is laying on my Icelandic mare’s back. / There will be two photos in this set, this is the second and was taken with my Evolt 510 camera.
Following a torrential downpour, the light changed to a golden hue in the late afternoon and this rainbow appeared over the landscape at Thingvellir National Park, Iceland. Featured (December 2009) in JPG Cast-offs
Calm before the storm, the place of gentleness.
Little bit sleepy, but very beautiful … Lítill hluti syfjaður, en mjög fallegur …
