The dark colors in this shot kept reminding me of Gotham City and how it always seemed dark and colorless there. Taken in the exact same place as Hanging By a Moment, a bush right outside my front door.

The fog from the night before created an elaborate lacy frost on the morning branches. / While South Dakota winters may have their “bite”.... we are also blessed with many delicate and beautiful moments where nature reveals her artistic grace.

Everytime I was washing the dishes in front of my window I kept looking at that fantastic scene .The snow had covered all the roof and at the same time my window ,it was completely dark ,until the snow began to melt .What a sight but I had to remove the icy snow with my hand and push inch by inch the window to open enough so I could go through the small window and take some shot .You should have seen me ,all wet and very happy of my idea. / I called it «communion» because ,at first the two icesticks were just one and melted until they got separated but it looks like they are reaching to get together again.The drop is the communion between them,a« metaphore» but for me it was magical.It’s like the time is suspended…..an untouched pic… / / /

This waterdroplet looks like a diamond or ice in the way the light is hitting it and reflecting off the tiny bubbles inside. I personally love the color of this one. Like the song ….A macro shot of a piece of ice from my roof last winter,I was so surprised how the sun came out.I was holding the piece of ice in front of the sun…just experimenting the effects it will make.I thought it was to overexposed so I only added a blue tone,that’s it…. / /

No Photoshop work except for basic levels adjustment. The splash was created from a tap falling into a shot glass. I used a book with an irridescent cover on it, so when the flash went off, this brought out the colours. Canon EOS 300D / Canon 18-55mm lens / 1/160s exposure @ f4.5
