I made a longed for trip to New Zealand. I found a country (south island) that looks at almost every angle like it is a chocolate box image. Beautiful, crisp… not enough superlatives to express how I felt .. just my photos.

Another shot of icy droplets from the ice story on January 5, 2009. The reflections in the frozen ice droplets are of my house. This is a small pine tree about 3 feet tall just outside my window.

While waiting outside at a small and quaint little ice-cream parlo’s cafe, I happened to look at their window and realized the patio umbrellas were reflected in the store front window looking as thought the umbrellas were inside when in fact they were of course where we were sitting outside.

Lamplugh Glacier, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, USA The Lamplugh glacier is 150-160 feet above water, and 10-40 feet below water. Like many of the glaciers in Glacier Bay, the Lamplugh glacier is receding. In less than one hundred years, this glacier will no longer be a tidewater glacier.
