It is very hard to try to explain how incredible Antarctica is if you have not been lucky enough to travel there! For those of you who have, you know what I mean. For those that have not, I will (eventually) be adding more images to help you understand, as words are just not enough! / Let’s just say, I really really really wish I could go back (with a better camera and a longer lens)! :-) / / (Antarctica) / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

WILD & FREE / / We were very lucky with our bear sightings at Spitsbergen in the Scandinavian Arctic which allowed us to get some nice close-up shots. These cubs were around 7 months old, and loved to copy mum! / / (Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / / >< / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
A HDR image of Lake Dillon, CO from the East side at sunset. It had snowed all the week before and the lake was iced over, reflecting the sunset beautifully.

Taken in the late winter/early spring of 2005 with a Canon A75 at a boardwalk in the town of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Québec, CANADA. The white expanse of snow visible beyond the trees is the frozen snow-covered Lake of Two Mountains. This oil painting was inspired by traveling in Portland, Oregon last Christmas during the worst white out in 40 years. The awesome quite and stillness of winter with it’s snow blanket drifitng in the breeze and the nightly shawdows on the water invites mystery and quiet contemplation.
