A few snowgums in the afternoon light at Guthega in the Snowy Mountains Australia. Other images in the series: Snowgums 2 / More winter images
this gang of Adelie penguins gave me a great opportunity for quite a series of entertaining photographs as they zoomed busily about their icy playground. This photo has become a symbol of connection and friendship among my own personal group of nearest and dearest friends.
WILD AND FREE / / We were very lucky with our bear sightings around Spitzbergen in the Scandinavian Arctic, which allowed us to get some nice close-up shots. These cubs were around 19 months old and still very playful. / / / (Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / / >< / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
This was the best day of our Artic trip, we were so lucky to spend hours with this polar bear mum and cubs (there were actually two cubs but the other is out of shot). This cub was around seven months old and full of joy! / I really like the tender love the cub shows for its mum. / / (Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
WILD AND FREE / / As I said on my “Polar Love” image, this was the best day of our Arctic trip. We were so lucky to spend hours with this mum and cubs as they moved around the ice flows. These cubs were around seven months old and full of joy – although they did not seem all that keen to follow mum this time! / / The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so! / / I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut! This dry leaf was on the camping table at the beach, all frozen. The sun was trying to dry it up again…..untouched.
WILD & FREE / / South Georgia is one amazing island that you all must try to get to, if you don’t mind four days in rough seas on a boat that is!!! But it is truly worth it…. This image was taken at a place called “Salisbury Plain”, where there are approximately 250 000 penguins! The sound as you come over the hill is tremendous, not to mention the smell!! Nearly forgot to say that they are king penguins. / / (South Georgia – on an Antarctic trip) / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

The image has been created as an alternative to the popular and greatly exaggerated theory of global warming and its consequences. Since global warming activists predict a dramatic change of the planet’s surface in the nearest future, the Ice Age Premonition portrays our society in the new Ice Age. / Ice Age – A cold period marked by episodes of extensive glaciations alternating with episodes of relative warmth. Any geologic period during which thick ice sheets cover vast areas of land. Such periods of large-scale glaciations may last several million years and drastically reshape surface features of entire continents. A number of major ice ages have occurred throughout the Earth’s history; the most recent periods were during the Pleistocene Epoch. There have been at least four major ice ages in the Earth’s past. The last glacial period ended about ten thousand years ago. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers
