One of my favourite portraits of my Dad, doing what he loves more then anything else in the world fishing. If he could he’d spend every day fishing, as it is he sometimes wets a line three or four times a day. On this occasion I decided to get up early and document him enjoying his sport. This is the result, it has special sentimental value to me, but I felt like sharing it as something different to what I’ve been posting recently.
one of my personal favorite, maybe it’s because No.4 was the first piece on which I deliberately put the feel of “texture.” It carries a strong sense of movement that magnifies through the shade, color and geometric effect. Unlike other designs, I applied a horizontal view for this postcard design, and added a white space on the right, just for balance’s sake (the original aspect ratio of No.4 is 1.0). Anyway, enjoy. : ]
Ian Rilen was a legendary Sydney rock and roller and a member of bands such as Rose Tattoo, X and Sardine V. He died earlier this year and is much missed for his wild and wonderful ways. I found this candid back stage shot of him and his then wife Stephanie preparing to go onstage at the Trade Union Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills way way back in the early 80’s. They were in Sardine V at that time and when I look at this shot now the eighties rush back. Oh my misspent youth. :) So Vale Ian Rilen, I so hope things are rocking were ever you are. This shot is for you.
yup i know I haven’t uploaded anything “serious” for a while, so here comes a new work in progress. have to do some minor change before the final version, but so far I’m quite satisfied with what I got (or should I be worried about its being too “orange”?!). comments are much appreciated. ;) Update: / / Finally i set up a shop to sell my own prints! in my shop you can get signed, limited edition of prints, by limited I mean, well, really limited! :)

Location: / St. Margaret’s Bay, Kent, England Map: / Multimap Date and Time: / 16 August.2008, 6.22 a.m. Camera details: / ISO 200 : f/22 : 0.78 second : 18mm : Nikon D40 : Nikon 18-55mm lens Shot narrative: / Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, bought one of the 4 “White Cliffs” houses at St Margarets Bay from Noel Coward in 1951. Noel Coward complained that the Bay had become ’ a beach crowded with noisy hoi polloi’ (you can just hear him saying that). Ian Fleming’s vacation house in Jamaica was famously called “Goldeneye” and the title was taken to connect the two properties with a slight helping of the Golden tones in the shot. Just down the road from me at Canterbury is the Duck Inn, near Bridge. Fleming went to the pub often, and describes in You Only Live Twice how the young James Bond was tutored by his aunt in a cottage “hard by the attractive Duck Inn”. Ian Fleming’s inspiration for Bond’s codename derived from the number of the local bus: 007 which drove past the pub. Photographs from St. Margarets Bay, Kent

This is for my daughters who are HUGE Neighbours fans! They tell me that Harold Bishop (aka Ian Smith) is leaving the show this week after 20 years! I have personally had the honour of working with Ian many moons ago (no… I’m not an actor or TV person!) and he is a delight and very witty man who deserves to be honoured with a tribute t-shirt! Enjoy. Brother Adam Youtube Video .
