WARNING: Viewer Discretion Strongly Adviced! This is my first wake-up call in my domestic Violence series. On my old art account I created this series and got quite attention for my work. But what is my goal with that? To manifest with my art that world peace starts at home and you can only end Domestiv Violence when you face the issue and cannot look away from this rapidly growing problem. Could you look away from this artwork? Does this completely caught your attention? It should since those are worlds millions of people hear right now in this very moment and even worse. Did you know: - Around the world, at least one in every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused during her lifetime - The most rapid growth in domestic relations caseloads is occurring in domestic violence filings. Between 1993 and 1995, 18 of 32 states with three year filing figures reported an increase of 20 percent or more. - In a national survey of more than 6,000 American families, 50 percent of the men who frequently assaulted their wives also frequently abused their children. Slightly more than half of female victims of intimate violence live in households with children under age 12. Studies suggest that between 3.3 – 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually. And this is not even the tip of the Iceberg, those are just a few noted statistics, but it is fact that this is not even the half of all “happening” cases around the world. What drove me to make this series? A lot. Someone very close and myself come out of violent families. My life long I have been treated like the sun wouldn’t shine for me too. Years long I have been hid from reality and locked in darkness, I lost my childhood and my youth through domestic violence and I can say that today strong like a rock. My life today is a lot better, my wife gives me the love I never had and felt and I give her the same back in my adornment and service. Unfortunately many woman/children/men go through this hell this very moment but the only problem politicians care about is to build up the nuke stock in their rocket facilities. They rather care to invest more money in war and weaponary as to support families, women and children who deserve a chance to live a happy life like our human and religious right tells us. I want to catch your attention with this image to say to you as a brother of this world, that you have the same rights to live as any other person, your gender, your creed or race doesn’t matter since we are all the same human, the same valuable and same unique and under the face of God are we all the same. Our lifetime is important and how we recieve our family, friends and even our neighbours will not be unseen, the generations will copy your behaviour and treat others the same. So…could you look away? I have a major plan with thi series since I would love to expand this as big as I can (even public plans), the next days will crystalize if I can move someones hearts or not. over the past month or so i have done a lt of reflecting ….my descion is to live my life how it is best for me .I stopped worring so much of what others thought i should be ..how i should act etc…..and so far my life has been so much more peacful and the ones who stayed around me are happy too ….this work is 30”x30”x2” ..acrylic …oil pastels inks ..textile paint …and a spilled tea:) but she is safe Believe / And I believe this body is only / A frail example of me / That my spirit / Ignites with fire and life / That it walks when I can not / Sings when I cry / When my flesh and mind burns from / Being stolen / I in sprit am still here clawing with bloody skin / Under my finger nails / The tastes of murderers steal blood / In my mouth / When everything begins to / Close up and shut down around me / My eyes hollowed out / My ears cut off / Bound and gagged / I am still here with the ability to feel it all / To fight back / You can’t take that / And they all told me to forgive / That that would set me free / But I never could accept their tainted water downed / Freedom / Because I know I already was / I just needed to believe it / That I still own / Everything thought / Every sin / Every love / Every torment / Everything. / And / I believe vehemently / That I am / More than the casualty / Of broken / That I am seen as.

this is a © Webgrrl orginal saying.. / I came up with this saying ooh..about 6 years ago, (2002/3) when after listening to many friends breakup and whinge about ex’s love and all that.. This was something i came up with after listening to my male friends woe.. It would always make them laugh! Funny but somehow so true.. :P Always thought it would make a good t-shirt.. so here it is :)

As a Person who contemplated suicide on many occassions, wondering if my loved ones would be better off without me and my toxic, jaded views of life and this world, this painting means a great deal to me. One night lots of moons ago, I sat awake in my room curled up in my favorte chair in a fit of desperation, barely able to breath between the sobbing and tears that streamed down my face. I held a loaded 9mm to my temple as dawn broke, sun streaming through my blinds. As a new day began and the heat from the sun reached me I felt it…I FELT LIFE…I felt alive. I spent that day learning that from every traumatic event I had the ability to grow. I had the ability to learn. After all knowledge IS power right?
