This is I guess my local laundrette and thankfully I have never had the pleasure of using this place as it was always quite dirty and well ..feral! When I was seen grubbing around the floor with my camera, an angry looking man asked if I was the owner phew thank christ I wasn’t ! He had trouble with the washing machines and was not impressed. I was then given a strange look when I said the images were for an exhibition in Melbourne, he frowned and said “they’re a strange lot down there” hehehe I had to giggle and thought to myself geez no stranger than us singlet wearers here! This is part of a series of works some of which will be included in the Inner Northerns latest exhibition My Humble Laundrette
