I’ve enjoyed playing with the humming birds. I hope you enjoy viewing the results. As always, comments are welcome
As this little hummer rest a bit she looks to be daydreaming. :o)
This calendar is made up of all the hummingbirds in my area. They include Anna’s, Black Chinned, Calliope, and Rufous Hummingbirds. This is the first calendar I have ever made, so I hope you enjoy this calendar as much as I enjoyed making it. Note, Dash was used in here twice, since one, he is the one that started the whole hummingbird craze with my wife and I, and two, I didn’t have enough photos large enough for the calendar.

i planned this shoot of a rufous tailed humming bird feeding on a heliconia flower by staking out the heliconia patch in the wilon botanical gardens in southern costa rica. i waited for hours at a time over several days to get this perfect angle on a feeding bird. this bird was very aggressive and he buzzed me several times, spraying me with sticky goo each time!
This image was captured in Jupiter, Florida This is a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird / Which is in the bird family Trochilidae, and are endemic to the Americas. They can fly backwards, and are the only group of birds able to do so. Their English name derives from the characteristic hum made by their wings.Which they can do up to 53 times a second. The extremely short legs of the Ruby-throated Hummingbird prevent it from walking or hopping. The best it can do is shuffle along a perch. To scratch its head and neck it raises its foot up and over its wing. This was taken last Spring .I had no idea what this was at frist , and it was not easy to get a picture of him as they zip around really fast just like a hummingbird but much much smaller ! This is one of two different kinds I had flying around my Lilic Bush. I hope to see them again this coming spring. This was taken at my home in Odessa, Tx with a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 Humming Bird Moth /
is my mind twisted or does this Islander poppy looks like some hairy anatomic body part?
Stripes version
I’m stuck here, sitting in this chair. I know there’s things to do, but I sit here and stare. / The household chores, the stores and all my pores get neglected, as I sit here, facing the glare. / Knowing I need to get out, face the world – my self worth dwindles before me. I shield my eyes from the flare. It’s too bright, I hate this light.
thanks to http://mizzd-stock.deviantart.com/ for the model stock frot the humming birds and http://faestock.deviantart.com/ for the background
Locking on to the beam…..this Hummer is making ready for the dockup and a quick fillup for a wild burst of energy
The humming birds are still here in southern New Mexico. I love sitting on the back deck watching them fight over the feeders. / No more rain here, beautiful day! Yay!
