Sailboat anchored on Lake Michigan in the evening haze. Calm waters allowed a perfect reflection.
The descend from the mount Elit was quite an experience. Only later our guide told us how many accidents happened on this track. We made 1000 meters down in 2 hours, while not moving more than perhaps 100 meters forward. The kind of a pile of sticks on the bottom of the picture is a prototype Papuan ladder. It was semi-helical, extremely slippery and missed lots of steps. I took the photo while waiting for my friends to get completely down, didn’t want to fall on their heads with the whole wobbly contraption. Irian Jaya (Indonesian Papua), Jayawijaya mountains – still some 3500 m.o.s.l.
taken today on a foggy, damp, humid, warm December morning
I’ve been to cities that never close down, / From New York to Rio and old London town, / But no matter how far or how wide I roam, / I still call Australia home. I’m always travelIing, I love being free, / And so I keep leaving the sun and the sea, / But my heart lies waiting over the foam, / I still call Australia home. All the sons and daughters spinning ‘round the world, / Away from their family and friends, / But as the world gets older and colder, / It’s good to know where your journey ends. / Someday we’ll all be together once more, / When all of the ships come back to the shore, / I’ll realise something I’ve always known, / I still call Australia home. But no matter how far or wide I roam, / I still call Australia I still call Australia, I still call Australia home. / But no matter how far or wide I roam, / I still call Australia I still call Australia, I still call Australia home. Please support me and favorite this piece here too. Thank you / Saw some pretty tropical flowers at the dollar store (I LOVE dollar stores so much cheap art stuff ) and the “Victoria’s Secret” idea popped in my head. Self-portrait.
Saturday November 22/08 was a cold windy humid day, actually bone chilling! / Although we have not had any snow accumulation on the ground as of yet. / It is coming! And you can feel it in the air… / What I found while walking through the woods in Ste-Marthe Quebec CANADA , were frozen pools of water everywhere. Out beyond the trees a thin crust of white ice is forming near the shore.
The Salto do Prego waterfall, near the village of Faial da Terra. Sao Miguel, Azores islands, Portugal. / This photo was recently published on the cover of portuguese magazine SÁBADO :)

I loved all of these little dried up flowers along the road near my house. The’ sun was setting… it was beautiful out there! Oklahoma is hot, muggy, buggy, but it has it’s beauty too., Nikon D80 / July 09 / Lawton, Oklahoma
Ahem, no, I’ve not seen the wizard of Oz… Saw this at the Manchester antifreeze Art boot sale, definitely bizarre.
When it was summer, earlier this year, friends and I decided a day at the Melbourne Botanical Gardens was a necessary way to spend some time in the warmth. This was one of the resulting shots I took that day. After playing around with colour altering (my favourite thing at the moment), it came up looking like a tropical dreamscape, far from what we can normally get in Melbourne. Slightly cropped and major alteration of colour. Featured in Australian Contemporary Photography Canon SX100IS MCN: C184C-D5CEF-E1E64
Taken around Langstone Harbour. As I walked through the fields at the back of the pond I came across a patch of thistles in bloom. It was a overcast yet very warm and humid afternoon, the thistles were buzzing with bees and butterflies flitting from bloom to bloom. I counted at least 6 different species, this small copper being one of them. I carefully waded through the long grass mindful of adders and trying to avoid the prickly thistles to get these shots, it is only the second time I have seen this butterfly.
Taken at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. I just love the way the wings look transparent in the sunshine that flitted in and out of the clouds.

“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.” Mark 13:28,29 / [Jesus speaking to Peter, James, John and Andrew regarding the day He will return to the Earth. If you wish to know what else Jesus told us regarding that day, see the entire 13th chapter of Mark and 24th chapter of Matthew] I took this photo when the summer sun had just risen and was casting a golden glow….promising another hot humid day….NJ, USA, August 2009
