A view of the Humber Bridge from Hessle Foreshore on a cold, foggy Boxing Day. The building of this bridge was commenced when I was a very young girl, and I used to go with my grandad to Hessle Foreshore to watch its progress and touch the pillars! Finally it was complete and I now cross it many times a year. Its a fine structure!

This is one of my old shots taken with a compact camera.. it was a day I was hoping for a moody photo with it being so dark, but then I spotted the hole in the cloud. The sun burst through and I did my best to angle the sunburst with the bridge. Taking a few shots, this was the one I liked the best.

‘The Deep’ Aquarium in Hull on a dull June day. This wonderful building was designed by Sir Terry Farrell and partners and is part of the regeneration scheme all along the riverbanks and docks. This award-winning East Yorkshire attraction is home to 40 sharks and over 3500 fish! A dedicated team of marine biologists look after the fish as well as carry out vital marine research. Well worth a visit if you’re in the region!
