Another image taken yesterday at the local beach, it’s quite simplistic really so I would love to hear some opinions.

Taken looking south to Wollongong from Providential Point, Royal National Park, just south of Sydney Australia. / This is my first attempt at a multi-exposure blend. This image is a combinations of 57 X 30sec exposures using the fantastic Startrails Photoshop Action that you can download free from this excellent site: / www.schursastrophotography.com/software/photoshop/startra… I was put on to this action by Dave Burrow whose amazing startrails image can be seen here: / http://www.redbubble.com/people/davidburrows/art/321722-3-startrails The brilliant thing about this PS action is that the longest exposure you need to take is 30sec and so it virtually eliminates the noise problem of conventional long exposure startrails. You can imagine how much noise this shot would have as a 30min exposure. / The straight lines are some of 9 planes that flew through these exposures over the half-hour I was taking them – amazingly consistent flight paths. It got so busy I had to delete some of the planetrails, hence the little gaps in the startrails.
Sometimes faeries take humans away to beautiful, magical places but sometimes, the places they take us are dark and not so beautiful. This was done for a project themed “Fear’s Playground.” It’s based on a nightmare I had a few years ago where this malevolent nixie was terrorizing a small town and killing off young men. The dream started with her drowning a surfer so that’s the scene I illustrated here. It was actually a rather terrifying dream—I guess because I have such a strong fear of drowning.

Looking south from Caves Beach Jervis Bay. One of these “I don’t believe this” moments. One of the problems with Royal NP (where I shoot most of my photos) is that it’s under the flight path for Sydney airport which is a problem at night because I end up getting lots of distracting light trails from the planes (there is often no more than 90 seconds between one plane flying out of a frame and another flying in). Given it takes 10 minutes to start getting decent star trails you end up with 10 plane trails in the shot. / So me and my partner headed south to the almost equally gorgeous national park at Jervis Bay 2.5 hours south of Sydney. Whoopee I thought – no planes. And then, just as I pressed the shutter this tiny light plane flew into frame. My first reaction was #$Q #%$## what do you have to do to get away from aircraft and I nearly closed the shutter. But then I thought just leave it and take another shot after this one. So I left it and it turned out to be my favourite shot of the start trails I took that night. The white glow is the Milky Way and the orange glow is from a village on the other side of the bay. / Tv: 619secs / Av: f/3.5 / ISO: 200 / FL: 17MM / Canon 30D

Here’s my oldest boy paddling out just like me to watch the sunset after a very hot summer’s day. And yes, here I’m also in the water after him with the camera! / It’s similar to ‘My sunset’ but I wanted to share this one also :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens / processed in RAW with only the contrast and colour slightly upped, the rest is all real! No photoshop as I have already been asked.

I have a poem I am working on with the feeling of storms involved. I am a sucker for the experience one gets in strong weather and felt this storm the other night deserved to be observed as a vibration unto itself. So there is the Goddess and The Gods written about these amazing events and I felt my way to producing a piece that depicts them and us.
They were out on the same walk She saw buildings / He saw the sky She saw shadows / He saw the shadows of birds that fly She saw a crack / He saw a crevice She saw a hole / He saw a ditch She saw the homeless / He saw the rich She saw a rock / He saw a diamond When they got home they looked into each other’s eyes, / How shall we ever agree on this life at the same time? / They said all at once / Well… / She said / We must learn to revel in our differences / Lets go against society, / Every time I see differently or you do / Lets break out the champagne and the sweet meats / Every time one sees a problem.. Lets celebrate for the other / Every time one sees a solutions lets do it again … / Celebrate / Celebrate each other.. And then we will loose track of / Perfect timing cause every moment will be just perfect!! So they made a pact and they went for walks / When she saw buildings and he saw the sky they both / Were so happy for what the other was seeing it was like they were seeing EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE. / It was like it did not matter any more who saw what when or where; It just mattered that they were together. / And guess what? / THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER… TEE HEE / THE END Linaji 2009

“Time and Tide” She rises in silence on another human moment, and illuminates the crumbling icons we worship…and those we have yet to awaken to. Reality is merely a perception, and we can be so blind. Regardless of our lack of vision, / time and tide move inexorably to erase all traces of our petty struggles and return us to the place it all began… The ghosts of the past walk beside the spirits of the future, leaving invisible footprints upon this landscape… guiding a relentless cycle of humanity on its neverending journey to self discovery. Somewhere between the lines, truth reveals the simple joy of acceptance and the relinquishing of control, and waits patiently for us to see. Beyond all that we think we are or strive to be, time and tide will continue to overwrite our diminutive stories with a grander chronicle of their own, eternally seeking to restore the balance…. Here is a re-worked image of my little girl and my husband which was on RB a while ago.. I keep coming back to it so finally decided to play with it and here it is… I originally had this image in colour but got some great advice from a fellow bubbler to try it in b&w so I did…... This image was taken when my little girl fell over on the rocks and hurt her knees and her daddy gave her a piggy back to the car before the storm came.
