Power boat cruising by “Big Red” lighthouse in the Holland Harbor. “Big Red” is the only lighthouse that has a name and is most photographed. It is a historical landmark and its friendly guiding light has brought many ships home safe.

A view of the Humber Bridge from Hessle Foreshore on a cold, foggy Boxing Day. The building of this bridge was commenced when I was a very young girl, and I used to go with my grandad to Hessle Foreshore to watch its progress and touch the pillars! Finally it was complete and I now cross it many times a year. Its a fine structure!

Pangaea, Greek for “all land”. A supercontinent that existed during the late Palaeozoic and early Mesozoic Eras (about 300 million to 200 million years ago), and which comprised of two large continental masses: Gondwana to the south and Laurasia to the north. Although originally one ‘C’ shaped landmass I was lucky enough to be there when it was starting to break up and form the modern continents as we know them today, so I felt obliged to take a photograph of the event!
