Pastel on burgundy Colourfix sanded paper. 70cm x 50cm Hughes Creek is a beautiful creek which flows through the Highlands area of Northern Victoria. I have spent some lovely camping trips here with my husband. He cooked the meals, I painted. What a wonderful arrangement! / This was painted towards the end of summer, a time of year that I love, when the Australian landscape turns to green and gold. / This painting won the major award ($1,000) for Best Artwork in the ‘Under Central Skies’ Tallarook Art Show 2007. It also won the People’s Choice award. Pastel on sanded paper (Colourfix ‘terra cotta’ – Full Sheet 70 cm x 50 cm) Another in the series of paintings I completed last year after spending a few days camping in the Tarcombe area of Hughes Creek, Victoria, Australia. This is an extremely remote location only accessible by 4 wheel drive vehicle. I am very fortunate that I know the owners of this land and I intend to return again at the end of this summer. Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (burgundy) 70cm x 50 cm My second painting for 2009! Just finished it today and I have been working on it for a few hours each day for about 4 days. The location is Hughes Creek at Avenel. I just love this area of Northern Victoria, Australia, and cannot wait to go back to this secluded spot that is only accessible via a 4-wheel drive vehicle and a compliant husband! My most popular Purple Passionate and I decided to see how it looked in sepia. And I liked the results.
