Here’s a favourite of mine from way back… (well, about 17 months to be precise). / Taking photos in the few small moments off here while I was working was one of the few joys I received over a couple of months and was quite happy with my takings from just one night, (same sunset I shot ‘Dancing Dampier Palms’). / Probably my first successful decent shoot of a sunset…so at the same time, this inspired me and has made me keen to improve since. Taken from the shores of Dampier in the Pilbarra region, Northern WA, Oz. Thanks for any looks &/or comments… / Cheers, / Matt.

Remains of autumn’s splendor with a babbling mountain stream in the background. This has been digitally rendered to resemble a watercolor but effects aren’t that noticeable at smaller sizes. This stream is found in the Tremont Area of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park

The cabin of Carter Shields Place makes a beautiful autumn setting as it may of been around 1830 or 40’s.It’s location is on the Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It’s preserved by the Park Service and an example of early Appalachian structures. The Great Smoky Mountain N.P. not only preserves the flora and fauna but a way of life http://www.redbubble.com/people/suddath/art/126777-12-mingus-mill-viii

Model – Meluxine The height of winter, she’s laying on wet frozen ground, in a vintage dress and my ugg boots, full to the brim with Hungry Jacks, watching me dance like a crazy person with a head cold around her when suddenly the sun breaks through right at the perfect moment, and she manages to pull of that look like it’s as easy as microwave popcorn. / This girl rocks. Canon 40D + available [overcast] light. / The film versions are pretty cool too. Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas

Twice a day as the tides receed nature’s tidal artwork is unveiled – and what an exhibition it can be ! At glance it may be missed…but with a keener eye patterns emerge..sometimes contoured, other times smooth. Only can nature make such pieces of work that define true beauty on a seemingly endless scale. / / / Canon EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more of my photography from Nth Qld below / / /

As dawn breaks on a low tide revealing an incredible array of tidal sand patterns. I discover something that appears out of the ordinary – ‘against the grain…’ / I am unsure of what sort of worm or creature is the architect of this mighty fine little structure but it certainly caught my attention. / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / see more of my photography from Nth Qld below /

Many trials I overcame / There I remained just the same / Through drought, wind, rain, and hail / I hung there and did not fail The suns face, less I did see / As I hung there on the tree / My beauty then I did show / But struggled not to let go A strong north wind came that day / Force so great I could not stay / On a rock I hang on still / Though the air is starting to chill I hang on for you to see / This is what matters to me / If to you, joy I did bring / It will cause my heart to sing Image made on Porters Creek,Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mountain NP ©2008 Gary L. Ok so everyone is probably sick of all my flood filter photos but I’m having way too much fun! This is my girlfriend’s kitten Jaguar, this shot was taken in her backyard in autumn and I thought it would make for a good subject for a flood filter. Also changed the hue and saturation of her eyes in Photoshop, other minor changes such as slight cropping done in Lightroom.

Fall isn’t to be out done by Spring with all the new beginnings and shades of green. For a brief time it bursts into a splendor of warm color just before the dead of Winter. This is the Middle Prong Little River located in the Tremont section of the GSMNP

There is a separate image upload of this image which is available as a card because this version looses the end of Mouse’s nose when it is applied to the card.

this is one of a series of three. This one is for a commission. Knowing a little about the person, besides knowing he likes red, and abstract, and loads of texture, he’s also gone through big change in his life (new business, going well, old relationship ended) One of the things he loves in his business is seeing a ‘situation’ and cleaning it up to be fresh, sparkling and better than expected. Bearing this in mind, the surface of the canvas was highly textured. There is loads of ‘chaos’ that is steam rolled through, leaving a shining path. It is a visual reminded of his efforts of the day, and the mark he leaves on the world. It is vision of happiness, a job well done, a tribute to freedom and moving forward. I have amped up the colour so it looks great in print.

Morning has broken, like the first morning / Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird / Praise for the singing, praise for the morning / Praise for the springing fresh from the word Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven / Like the first dewfall, on the first grass / Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden / Sprung in completeness where his feet pass Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning / Born of the one light, Eden saw play / Praise with elation, praise every morning / God’s recreation of the new day lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon

I just loved how the blue paint of this boat matched the hues of the sea at the time this shot was captured.

Yet another sunset, the intentness of the light attracted me to this, and of course the deep hues. AV

Pull over and rest a while. Don’t let the stress of your daily life and bumper to bumper traffic get you down. Stop and hang around a while. Explore my banks for something missed by the hosts of those rushing by. They give but a glance and often miss my beauty. Let the rushing today, be my waters as they babble on their way. Let my waters and wind be a song in your ears. Hear the quaking of my leaves as they rustle above you. Close your eyes and let me envelop you. See you feel better already ain’t you glad you decided to hang around awhile…..Little River from the side of Little River Road, Great Smoky Mountain N.P.

This montage of flowers celebrates fhe color purple, the color of passion, of royalty, of depth! The love child of tempestuous red and subdued blue, purple is a cross between fire and ice.
