  • Twice a day as the tides receed nature’s tidal artwork is unveiled – and what an exhibition it can be ! At glance it may be missed…but with a keener eye patterns emerge..sometimes contoured, other times smooth. Only can nature make such pieces of work that define true beauty on a seemingly endless scale. / / / Canon EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more of my photography from Nth Qld below / / /

  • As dawn breaks on a low tide revealing an incredible array of tidal sand patterns. I discover something that appears out of the ordinary – ‘against the grain…’ / I am unsure of what sort of worm or creature is the architect of this mighty fine little structure but it certainly caught my attention. / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / see more of my photography from Nth Qld below /

  • Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. • Here’s a favourite of mine from way back… (well, about 17 months to be precise). / Taking photos in the few small moments off here while I was working was one of the few joys I received over a couple of months and was quite happy with my takings from just one night, (same sunset I shot ‘Dancing Dampier Palms’). / Probably my first successful decent shoot of a sunset…so at the same time, this inspired me and has made me keen to improve since. Taken from the shores of Dampier in the Pilbarra region, Northern WA, Oz. Thanks for any looks &/or comments… / Cheers, / Matt.

  • Ok so everyone is probably sick of all my flood filter photos but I’m having way too much fun! This is my girlfriend’s kitten Jaguar, this shot was taken in her backyard in autumn and I thought it would make for a good subject for a flood filter. Also changed the hue and saturation of her eyes in Photoshop, other minor changes such as slight cropping done in Lightroom.

  • There is a separate image upload of this image which is available as a card because this version looses the end of Mouse’s nose when it is applied to the card.

  • Sunrise on the ocean, is a beautiful look with the mist rising and the sky and sea taking on the colors of the sun. Get up before 5 and take a walk if you live near a beach, it’s so worth it. • Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

  • One of twelve limited Edition Canvas exclusive to Mary Archibalds Gallery, Contact Mary and the girls on 04 939 2112 archibaldsart@xtra.co.nz 95 Main Street Upper Hutt Shot along the Hutt River near Trentham Park in a small side stream after a hail storm, I’d taken the dog out and we had to shelter under a tree while the storm passed, once it cleared the light was magic, at the bottom of the valley the sun was trying to burst through (never did) which gave this Autumn peach tone. the peach tone lasted for about 3 mins and then it was gone followed by another down pore, I love the way the mist over Moonshine and Riverstone merges with the sky, I needed a very low angle to get the light reflected into the water, I’m om my knees in the water for this shot and it was bloody cold. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor Lens and a cokin ND8 grad All Twelve canvases: / River Run Dawn Dawn Candy / Candy shop dawn / River Run Dawn Blues / Tuning Fork Falls / Broken Autumn Hues / SunShine over MoonShine / Sunshine over Moonshine Rocks / Stags Head Rock / River Run Dusk Hues / Candy Shop Tripple Ripple / The Dawn Star / Dawn Torment

  • Took this image last week after a few mls of rain over night…the ‘apricot’ tint is from the first rays of light from the rising sun.. DebsPhotos

  • I was off to take some photographs of some waterfalls in the Breacon Beacons in Wales when I almost missed this scene. Had there not been a break in the cloud I may have missed it. It was probably the best drive by shooting photograph I have to date. I’ve had a little play in photoshop and thought I’d post the results. / The original was shot using a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 27mm, f/8, 1/60 sec, ISO 400. No filters used and mounted on the car door. I then upped the exposure in photoshop with a layered PS approach and added some crows for effect. I hope you like it. © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.
