Colourful houses stacked onto the hillside around Brixham harbour in Torbay, South Devon, with the setting sun perfectly complimenting the illuminated shopfronts on the harbourside. A single trawler is moored beside the quay safely home from a day of fishing. The fishermen had their catch of the day, as did I. View the rest of our portfolio here Or visit our own website here

Hi all, been away for quite a while now, hope you are all well. I clicked on RB yesterday for the first time in ages and was pleased to see the high standard has still been maintained, this inspired me to try and make time for photography again, i had thousands of photos i had taken but not done anything with, so this morning before i went to work i got up and did this, i thought it was quite topical for the weather we are having here in England at the moment. It is a village scene from our local village Wentworth. Hope you like it. / Dave.

The backstreets of Grimethorpe,an old Yorkshire mining town, home of the famous brass band. I was contemplating taking this shot as i wandered back from my lunch, then the old lady walked in front of me and down the street, that made it for me.

Recently, my family and I enjoyed a lovely week in North Yorkshire, staying near the coast but enjoying day long excursions out to surrounding countryside and beaches. On one of our days out, we were making our way to Dalby Forest to meet up with fellow Red Bubbler and dear friend Paul McGuire when we decided to stop in the beautiful and picturesque village of Thorton-le-dale, with its lovely parks and walks. Just down from the centre of the town is a beautiful walk along the Thornton Beck stream. Along this walk is this beautiful 17th century Thatch Cottage which has been the on countless jigsaws, chocolate boxes and tins, not to mention calendars. In fact, it has been said that it is the most photographed cottage ever. So I set out to try and catch a view that is not commonly seen, which is probably an impossible task. I noticed that on the other side of the bridge from the main road, there was a slip way into the stream. I went to see the view from that side, and this is the scene I found. I must point out that when I took these shots, it was raining and very windy, hence the movement. I do like this view very much. Featured in Cottage Style / Featured in “Old Things – 3 per Day” We recently visited some dear friends who were living in Painswick, Gloucestershire, in England. Originally from America, they have lived in England for short periods of time (3 or 4 years) due to work. This was our last visit to their little cottage home in the lovely village, as they have now moved back to the states, but they are already planning to move back as soon as possible. We have enjoyed our frequent trips to visit them and this lovely old cottage. The cottage dates back almost 300 years (sometime in the 1700’s) and is a feature of the well known Tibbiwell Lane. It is as beautiful inside as it is outside. This door front scene was used as a magazine/catalogue cover for the company Scotts of Stow, and countless visitors to the village have taken photos of this beautiful and historic home. The property used to be two separate cottages but were combined at some unknown date. Please do click on the photo to view larger and please enjoy. This is a HDR image combining 6 bracketed shots using Photomatix Pro for Macs. Slight adjustments in lighting and tone were done using the enhanced details tool.
