So you say you like to be scared. It’s fun. Just want to remind you to be sure and knock on the door of the house at the end of the street. Don’t worry about the illusions of faces or anything strange hovering about the place. Be ready for anything that you might meet. They are waiting inside for your knock on the door. The residents are always home. I hope you are swift on your feet. As for me and mine, I think we’ll pass. Seems like a great night to stay home, pop some popcorn, watch a movie on TV. I’m not a coward or anything, just remember all the stories. No one has ever returned from the house at the end of the street. © amari / ____ Artwork created with multiple images, photos and image created with Apophysis fractal art program, Photoshops CS3, Micrografx and Photomatix HDR enchanced. This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.

A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

Part of a (now not so short) series of images taken in an authentic and derelict church manse (Abbey) in Glebe, Sydney. It was located on the same piece of land as the original Church (which was also disused). These shots were taken during two visits – the second and last visit spooked me so much I’ll not be going back…the stairwell was just incredible – its on the left (this is downstairs).

Depicts elements of our house—a pole house which is set in the bush though we live in town on an escarpment . I try to capture the beautiful shadows and lights of the house and incorporate some of the wild animals we see there-wallabies, possums, kookaburras, echidnas, parrots etc

Part of a short series of images taken in an authentic and derelict church manse in Glebe, Sydney. It was located on the same piece of land as the original Church (which was also disused). These shots were taken during two visits – the second and last visit spooked me so much – I’ll not be going back…this stairwell was just so rivetting. The colours here are the existing tones in the original image with some slight enhancement.

This door handle was photographed in the Turkish town of Beypazari, settled in the hills of the Central Anatolian plateau. The town is full of centuries-old wooden Ottoman houses, some restored and some still in their original state. This door obviously hasn’t seen any restoration work, but to me the faded paint and decaying wood only add to its fascination.
