Sometimes we go about our daily activities without ever taking the time to stop and appreciate the small things. Beauty can be found anywhere to the patient and present observer.

This is the last in my Puffins series for the moment. It’s not quite as sharp as I’d like, but I thought all the folk who were enjoying my puffin shots would like to see it. These puffins are “grazing” – gathering grass and stuff to repair their nests with. This housework is apparenty a common late afternoon activity. In the doctors living quarters of this abandoned mental asylum lays a number of articles that could be lifted out of any house of the time, such as these vacuum cleaners and ironing board stood in one of the rooms. Sometimes really quite personal things are left behind such as letters and photographs which are always interesting to have a spy at, but mostly its just simple artifacts like this.

now I must confess I’m not crazy about ironing but I am crazy about Antarctica… and sometimes maybe just a little crazy… so when I was lucky enough to go there a while back I managed to convince a whole bunch of people to pose for me for this silly calendar…. and as you can see the exciting and fabulous sport of extreme ironing knows no bounds… every gender and race and age and particular type of faith can and is able to embrace the concept of extreme ironing….. so go you good thing you get that ironing board out to a crazy place near you and give it a go…...:)
