The Harper Rigg Reservoir lies 15 miles West of Edinburgh off the A70 Edinburgh to Lanark Road. This matches with the other photograph ScottishSunset which was taken at the same place on the same evening

This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Another from the pine forest in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Sunday 20 April. With the picturesque shack, lichen covered pine trees, red mushrooms, and then the mist rolling in, I was torn in so many directions – in the end I made an attempt to get all elements in the one shot! / / Margo has kindly provided me with the following info on the red mushrooms – glad I didn’t taste any – I could have flown like Santa’s reindeers!!! / / (1) The Fly Agaric Amanita muscaria is the famous white-spotted red toadstool beloved of children’s book illustrators. They are widely known as one of the few poisonous fungi in the UK, but it is not generally realised that this is because they are in fact strongly psychedelic. Eaten raw, they cause stomach cramps, hallucinations1 and, possibly, death. In some parts of Europe they have long been associated with magic and legend. In Lapland, reindeer regularly get high on them and are seen to leap around, giving rise to the story of Santa’s flying reindeer. Lapps have a custom of deliberately feeding them to their deer, and then collecting and drinking the urine because most of the toxins are filtered out by the reindeer’s digestive system. 1 They are not the same thing as ‘magic mushrooms’. Sailor by Cheyenne The Lighthouse: / Old and Beautiful, Tall and Bright as it guides my Sailor home in the night. / Dark and Stormy sea, / the Hurricane tosses, his Boat rocks, / water breaches it’s Deck. / My Sailor’s in trouble, / His Ship as it begins to sink. / All hope is lost, until.... / Until He sees Me, / My shadow cast out on the Stormy sea, / casting out miles away, / the powerful light within the Lighthouse, / guides my Sailor home again. / Safe and Sound, my True Love is found. / The Lighthouse stands Tall and True, perched on top a cliff, / Old and Beautiful. / A symbol of Our strong Love. / Faithful We are to It. / It’s faithfulness is forever to our Gratitude. This is a view of La Corbiere Light House in Jersey, CI, that I discovered for the first time this summer. This has become one of my favorites. I look forward to going again next year. I love seaside skies. They can be so romantic and sometimes mysterious, and the sound of the waves crashing upon the rocks or the much gentler shore line. This shot was taken on the way home from a motorcycle trip to Dayton, OH. My buddy was getting a little ticked off at my wanting to stop to take this shot, as we tried to outrun the rain. Am I glad we stopped !!! This looked like an old church, that someone then had used as a residence for years. I LOVE the red leather chair on the porch, and the sky was just perfect for HDR. Taken with Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm lens. Post processing included HDR treatment, and some dodge & burn.
