The Sydney Opera House during a particularly vibrant sunset.
As Sydney was ravaged by bushfires, a thick blanket of smoke spread across the sky. The sun shining through it turned one of the cities most famous icon a beautiful gold.
Before my water housing broke, rendering my 20D useless, I used to paddle out on a bodyboard and do a bit of in water photography. One of my favourate things was to try catch the same wave as a surfer and shoot them from behind. This shot was one of my best.

Although they (the City of Sydney) do a great job every year, I think putting a large beating heart on the bridge was one of their best ideas to date. That, and ‘Eternity’. I also like how, if you look along the left of the top of the arch, you can just see the tiny little bridgeclimbers going about their touristy business. Expensive (and you can’t take a camera), but a pretty cool thing to do.
Taken in Westfield, NJ 2007 – Just an adorable little house in the height of autumn
This is my cousin’s holiday farmhouse in Maine – New England Region USA. It is about 150 years old and made up of many parts which were added over its life. None of the floors are level and it has a meandering internal layout with narrow staircases and low cielings.

We had been shooting since 6.30am after racing into the city to capture the fog. We started at the Royal Botanic Gardens and slowly made our way around to Bennelong Point. The morning was crisp, bright, quiet, still, and the light was sensational. At the Opera House the cleaning crews were at silent, diligent work. One of several working on the steps, this young lady was not in a hurry and indeed was quite intent on her task. I had plenty of time to compose the shot and she was not even aware of my presence. This abandoned building is located in Nelson, New brunswick. I’m not sure what this building was used for, I can’t find any history on it online. / It has a sign that reads; LOL No 147 and the year of the building is 1906. It was definitely creepy though! -cross processed /
